Shameless pat on the back for myself (Dan Allen) and James Robinson, your league coordinators, as we finished week 10 atop the leaderboard with each of us shooting our personal best score (at the Goon) and rating in a round to take 1st and 2nd place this week.
Thank you to everyone who played this winter. It was great to play with new players to the league and the same old chuckers I've been disc'ing with over the years. We had 32 people play and 160 rounds played. We enjoyed some great disc golf this winter regardless of cold, snow, rain, or very angry moose.
Each week you play you get 2.5 points for every person you beat or tie, plus 2.5 points for yourself. At the end of this series the top points finishers were, 1st Allen, 2nd Graham, 3rd J. DelReal, 4th Sramek, and 5th Munoz. Allen, Sramek, Munoz, and Black were the winter iron men and played all 10 rounds. Graham and Lukas each played 9 rounds, and both DelReal bros and also Moon played 8 rounds. Thanks fellas for powering through every Saturday.
A Pool had 7 different people win, B Pool had 9 different winners, and C pool had 5 people win. Allen won A pool 4 times (10 tries), Beckner 2 times (3 tries). Sramek, Black, Munoz, and Moon all won B pool 2 times each. Sramek and Black split time this series between A and B pool. Lukas won C pool 5 times, with Thurston II and S. Del Real each winning 2 times. Those stats include ties.
Top scorers this series for each pool were -14 by Purpero and Allen, -13 by Robinson, Beckner, and Groves, and -12 by Beckner in A pool. B pool had Oliver go nuts for -11, and the next best weekly winning score was -8 by Munoz (x2), Black (x2), Moon, Strawn, and Griffin. C pool had -6 by Kiess (his sole C pool week before his rating bumped him to B Pool), -1 Thurston II, and Lukas (E).
We had 1,000+ rated rounds by Allen x3, Beckner, Groves, and Purpero. The highest rated rounds were Beckner 1,036, and Purpero 1,030. Ratings aren't finalized yet however. So maybe we might gain or lose some 1,000 rated rounds as there were a few right on the edge above or below the line. League results were submitted to the PDGA and will be included in Tuesday's ratings update most likely.
We had 3 Aces, Allen and Purpero Basket 7, and Groves basket 3.
Thanks to the ADGA board for the support and Joe Caissie for his support getting James and I setup as the newb league coordinators.
Keep an eye on DG Scene for the start of Summer Leagues to be held each Tuesday night. Possibly the first week of May. Leagues will be at a mix of courses as usual but mostly Peters Creek, and Kincaid. Hopefully we can claim Davis back eventually.
First tourney will be in Homer at Jack Gist on 4/27, and then Kincaid Kickoff on 5/4.
See ya'll on the disc golf course this summer!
