Let's talk highlights!
First and foremost were all the aces! I personally saw 4 aces Saturday. I should start charging people to watch them play. Sramek hit a warmup round ace on 7 while we were checking pads and throwing shots. Groves pure'd hole 3 during the round with his Buzzz and hit chains for the first paid ace of the day. We got a little excited watching that one hit home. Purpero beat up on hole 7 again with an ace while my card was standing on 6's pad and still glowing from Scotts ace. I believe it was his red Zone. And then we played an after-round dubs cash game and Purpero decided to show us how he aced hole 7 with his red zone by aceing hole 7 with his red zone. So he won the most ace money Saturday since our group of 8 all put in $5 for any ace. Very cool day.
J. DelReal took down A pool with his best showing of the session at -10, he also had the longest birdie streak getting holes 13-17. Briseno made his triumphant debut to session 20 by taking a share of B pool 1st place winnings along with Munoz at -5. And Thurston beat up on C pool by 6 strokes! Shooting a -1. That's the second largest margin of victory in a pool this session. Only behind Kiess' 9 stroke beat down of C pool during his 1 week reign of terror in week 3 before bumping his rating to B pool. Also in week 3 Groves kicked A pools butt by 5 strokes for the third largest margin of victory this session.
B and C pools both outshot their group rating (24 points and 12.25 points) this week. A pool undershot their rating by 3.5 points.
Every hole had at least 2 birdies this week. That's a first for our session. Basket 6 was our birdie magnet of the week. We shot a half stroke under par and had 20 birdies out of 34 attempts. Basket 2 only had 16 birdies, but was the only basket with no bogies. Basket 7 had it's worst/best showing of the session. Worst because it was only the fifth easiest basket on the day shooting 0.24 strokes under par, which was worse than baskets 6, 2, 1, and 8. I'm flabbergasted baskets 1 & 8 out performed the basket I had previously dubbed Jerry Rice. But I saw 3 aces on it so it was more Dominique Wilkins than Rice this week.
