Good morning everyone! We are now only five days away from the 2023 Whistlers Bend Doubles Shootout.
First, if you have not already, we need all players to make an account at
www.discgolfmetrix.com. This will be used for our live scoring for the tournament. It is very simple and free to create an account and you can do so by following this link. No need for a premium membership or anything, the free one works perfect for what we will be using it for. The following link should take your right where you need to go. If not just go to the website and it's self explanatory.

On Tuesday when we release round one tee times, the event will become public and you will be able to see everything. Right now, you will not be able to find the Whistlers Bend Doubles Shootout as an event as it's still listed as private. Over the weekend you will be able to submit your scores, see others scores and get your next day tee times on this site.
Now for the fun stuff. A huge thank you to our CTP donation sponsors. All CTP's will be out for Round 1 and 2. A few of them in Round 2 might fall on alternate shot holes... If that is the case your team still only gets one shot at them following the format that is posted for those holes. Better choose wisely on who gets the shot during the alternate holes, but this choice does have to be made on the first alternate hole as you will alternate tee shots each time.
Saturday Round 2: Holes 1-9 Alternate Shot, Holes 10-18 Best Shot, Holes 19-27 Worst Shot
MPO: All 27 Worst Shot
Also on the bottom of this email will be the hole locations and hole rules. Hole rules are pretty simple at Whistlers. If you ever throw it on or over a road you don't have to cross, it's OB. If you ever throw it in the river, it's OB. If you ever throw it on a road even if you do have to cross it (such as holes 17 and 18) it's OB. Holes 5, 7 and 13 have painted lines on the edge of the cliff which serve as OB lines. If your drive goes over the line, you must proceed to the drop zone (in best shot obviously both players would probably need to go OB to choose to play from the DZ.) There are a few other hole specific rules but those are listed in the picture below.
If you have any questions don't hesitate to reach out. You will get a formal email Tuesday with your official players guide.
Please pass this on to your friends who may have typed the wrong email in at sign ups.... We all know the person that never gets the tournament emails and doesn't know why. Also, please make sure those friends make a discgolfmetrix account.
PICTURES ARE ATTACHED IN THE FILES SECTION ON DISCGOLFSCENE. THIS IS JUST A COPY FROM THE EMAILS SENT TO ALL PLAYERS
See you all Friday or sooner!
Thanks
Scott & the WBDS Tournament Team
