Hey Everyone!

I can't believe we are only nine days away from the start of the 2023 Whistler's Bend Doubles Shootout. Whistler's Bend has been fully mowed by the parks department and we are going to be out there Saturday this weekend doing a work party to clean up the wooded holes that the county mower can't get to. In short, Whistler's should be looking beautiful next weekend.

REQUIREMENT FOR ALL PLAYERS- We will be using an online scoring platform this year to do live scoring! It is a really cool website that a lot of European tournaments use like Udisc (We can't use Udisc the way we need to due to this being a multiple day, non-pdga event).

The website is www.discgolfmetrix.com. WE NEED ALL PLAYERS TO GO CREATE AN ACCOUNT. That is all you need to do right now. You will be emailed detailed instructions next week on how the scoring will work but I promise it's super easy. It is free to make an account and took me under a minute to do. Just go to the website and create one using an email and password that you will remember..

This site will allow everyone to keep score just like PDGA live, to view live scores and to see your next day tee times once they are posted. Please, even if you don't think you have service at Whistler's, create an account and we can figure it out from there. We will have backup paper scorecards just in case but we think Disc Golf Metrix will help take this event to the next level.

You will not be able to find our event on the website as it is currently listed as private. We will make it public early next week when we are ready to formally announce tee times for round one.

Work Party Saturday June 17th- We would love to have all the help we can get this Saturday. The work party will be from 9:30am-2:00pm with lunch/drinks provided. We will be doing a round of random flip doubles after which I will be bringing a handful of prizes to give out during the round. Here is a facebook link to the work party and a description of it.

We are organizing a work party on Saturday June 17th to help get the course in tip top shape for the summer and the tournaments that are upcoming.
Lunch/Water will be provided for everyone
Please bring your own weed eater/weed whackers as most of the upkeep that is needed right now is in the wooded holes where the county mower can't get.
Please RSVP so I know how many people are coming. Even if you can come help for only an hour or two that would be great.
We will be doing random flip doubles at 2:00pm after the work party, anyone who helps with the work party will be eligible to win a handful of prizes I will bring down.


Other Notes- Things are moving very well in preparation for the event. The recent sunshine has dried the course out very nicely and it should be looking great for next weekend. We currently have CTP prizes for nearly half the holes in rounds 1-2. These range from a $500 cash CTP from Cougar Cannabis to Discs/Bags and other Swag.

Also at this point, please do not change your team names unless you are still listed as TBD, we have all the team names loaded up in Disc Golf Metrix already.

Refund policy Edit
Whistlers Bend Doubles Shootout staff is responsible for all refunds/cancellations. ALL PLAYERS ARE RESPONSIBLE TO READ THESE REFUND POLICIES. By registering your team, you agree to the following policies.

-Any team who drops out before June 1 will receive $200 of the $240 entry back
-Any team who drops out between June 1 and June 17 will receive $150 of the $240 entry back
-Any team who drops out after June 17 will receive no refund unless their spot is filled by a waitlist team. If it is filled by a waitlist team, the team dropping out will receive $100 of their $240 entry back.

This policy is in effect for all teams and is in place to make sure the tournament can stay as organized as possible and we do not have to move tee times around once they are posted.

We will be following the posted refund policy which is as listed above. It has been posted on discgolfscene since before sign ups opened.
