Thanks to Eric for organizing this tournament. It’s a beautiful way to honor and remember Nathan together. We miss him so much and wish he could be here to play with us. For those who didn’t know him, here's some background:
Nathan, his younger brother Jesse and I had played disc golf occasionally for several years, but like many others started playing a LOT during the pandemic. Nathan got his first MA1 win at the Ship Rock Silver Bells tournament Dec.20, 2020, beating now-local-legends Lucas Oberholtzer Hess and Nathan Johnson that day with a -4 round in the snow. His rating reached the 950s and was rising fast when he was suddenly diagnosed with an aggressive brain cancer in February 2021 and died eight months later after a courageous journey with that horrible disease.
On the video tab of this tournament I posted an “in-the-bag” he sent to me and Jesse from college on October 29, 2020. It's a great memory of how much joy he got from disc golf. I also tried to post a short slow-mo of him throwing which inspired Eric’s disc design for the tournament, but it didn’t seem to work so I’ll put the link here:

Finally, here's a link if you want to learn a little more about Nathan’s life beyond disc golf:
