Just to be clear, to be a volunteer a person gives their time, (In the Rain), their service, and Pays PDGA 10 Rat Dollars to boot? Sep 29, 2022
Christopher Brown Sep 29, 2022If you signed up for two days, you get a $50 DGU gift card. I don't know if standing in 50⁰, tropical storm winds, and rain is worth a few Teebirds tho lol

Thank you for the question Mike. The payment is not to the PDGA, it is made to the USDGC Doubles event. The purpose of the payment is to create buyin, where the volunteer feels a certain level of obligation to take their volunteer role seriously. No shows, last minute cancels, and volunteers that aren't truly bought into the process are a reality we need to avoid with how big the event is. If the $10 fee is the barrier that is keeping you from volunteering, we understand. Just reach out to us and we can figure something out, but the value is certainly returned in the form of food, a shirt, a DGU gift cards, and more. Cheers!
