Thank you for the question Mike. The payment is not to the PDGA, it is made to the USDGC Doubles event. The purpose of the payment is to create buyin, where the volunteer feels a certain level of obligation to take their volunteer role seriously. No shows, last minute cancels, and volunteers that aren't truly bought into the process are a reality we need to avoid with how big the event is. If the $10 fee is the barrier that is keeping you from volunteering, we understand. Just reach out to us and we can figure something out, but the value is certainly returned in the form of food, a shirt, a DGU gift cards, and more. Cheers!

As of now the event is still scheduled in its entirety. Your safety is paramount to us so we will be watching the path of Ian and making our decisions accordingly. Our plan now is to reevaluate this Wednesday. I do feel confident the event will be held but there is a strong chance we will have to make some adjustments to avoid any possible severe weather conditions.
