Attention Widefield Open Tournament Competitors,
It has been brought to our attention that the way we developed group assignments considering a preferred tee time, was not handled properly according to the rules.
The following PDGA rule on grouping and sectioning states:
"Professional and Amateur players should not be grouped together. Divisions should be grouped together as much as practicable."
https://www.pdga.com/rules/competition-manual/106
In summary, groups should be generated by division, consecutively and can not mix Pros and Ams within the same card.
At this moment in time, the issue has been acknowledged as well as addressed directly with the PDGA and we are NOT going to make changes and have PDGA’s approval to continue the posted schedule for Saturday as currently setup.
Please check the posted tee times again today as some final changes have been made.
To clarify, for Sunday, the PDGA system will automatically assign groups, by division, by score.
Please note that we will be sending out the Caddy Book with additional information for the weekend this evening so please check your emails and assigned tee times.
For future sectioned events, we will not be offering preferred tee times per the rule mentioned above.
We apologize for the confusion and inconvenience this may have caused anyone. Our goal is to host an awesome event that everyone can enjoy along with considering player's special requests to the best of our ability, but some things can just not be accommodated due to standard rules that need to be followed.
Hope everyone understands and we are looking forward to hosting you for a great weekend of disc golf!
Thank you,
CP
