I actually have this on my calendar for the format. there is a place for a tournament like this. I would pay for a tournament with no players pack if the format and competition is fun. I specifically seek out tournaments like this.

I believe thats the downfall of Disc Golf tournaments, TDs set the bar too high when they started offering great players packs. Why does there have to be a players pack? What if no players pack but awsome payouts? This isnt little leage, not everyone gets a participation trophy

I never once said that there needs to be a players pack.. if this is a metroparks fundraiser event (like it was last year), then let it be that.. once again.. no one wants a dx wombat3, water bottle or drawstring bag. Save that money and let it go to the metroparks. Want an awesome payout? Once again, don't give us a players pack that is absolute trash and put that money towards a payout.. not a payout that involves a ball golf pro shop.. ill say it again.. this course is one of the best in the area, and the upkeep is top notch.. but the way this event is being run is ridiculous..

I played in this event last year and it was one of the most fun and relaxed tournaments I've ever participated in. It's a low cost, unsanctioned, fund raiser for the parks. I'm not sure what you are so upset about. They provide you with a course stamped disc and other swag that they have on hand, I considered that players pack a bonus and was happy they went to the effort to do this. These types of events are not about walking away with a big players pack and a stack of plastic from your payouts, it's about having a fun day disc golfing and helping out the parks. With the amount of sanctioned events every week in the greater NE oHIo area I'm sure you'll find something more suited to what you're looking for.

I too played in it last year, and I too had a wonderful time.. but with the growth of the sport, the majority of the players want more than what's being offered here and ill leave it at that.. take for instance the Pure Flight Open.. 144 players in under 2 days with a decent size waitlist.. this event has been open for over a month with 24 players.. the numbers speak for themselves

yes but you realize that event is sponsored by Pure Flight and many others reducing the incurred cost and alowwing higher payouts/more expensive players packs? The Park is not legally allowed to have any sponsors for an even like this, therefore to have a sanctioned event and payout 85% they would lose money everytime they held a tournament. Anyone can host a tournament at the Farm and run it just like the Pureflight Open. Bottom line is if you dont want to play fine, then dont, but dont rain on everyone elses parade.

Even making it a 2 round tournament with no players pack as a “fundraiser tournament” would bring in more players from the area. Especially if the prize was a gift card to infinite, discraft, or other manufacturers. Even partnering with someone like pure flight as a local retailer
