Bradley Alan (Brad) Hutchings
03/06/1975 - 01/10/2022
The Battle Creek/ Kalamazoo disc golf community lost a great man to heaven after fighting a battle with COVID, at the young age of 46. His sister/ best friend Melissa introduced him to disc golf three and a half years ago playing a round at Begg Park and he immediately fell in love with the sport. Brad became so addicted that he made it to out to a disc golf course, notably Begg Park, TBC, and Cold Brook, almost every day when he wasn’t working or being a loving father to his two young daughters, Avianna (Avi) and Emma. Didn’t matter if there was a foot of snow, pouring rain, or super windy conditions (his least favorite), he’d be out there trying to be the best he could be. It also didn’t matter who was out at the course, he had no problem joining a group and immediately hitting it off with them. Most people knew Brad for his super witty personality, his silly wave he gave to welcome you, and more recently for his sidekick pit-wiener mix named Starsky. His signature disc golf move was to forehand putt with Sexton Firebirds, regardless of how far away he was from the basket…when his “Stonerama” Rhyno wasn’t working for him. He was really good at winning ‘waffles’ online, trading for more tie-dye Innova Pro plastic, and seeing how many discs he could possibly add to his signature blue Zuca cart, while still leaving room for his two Brisk Raspberry Iced Teas that he needed for every round. The K’Aces are graciously accepting donations to provide Avi and Emma with financial support during this horrible time. Please reach out to Larry LaBond or Jacob Miller directly if interested.
RIP Brad…you will be missed my many and forgotten by few. Hope you keep slingin’ those discs in heaven!
