I caught that right at the last minute and backed up and renewed my pdga. Weird so it wasn't just me that had that happening. Was it just because the event was in 2022 I guess.

Yes, it always goes by the date of the event. So you have to be current for the year that the event takes place. I have to renew mine before I can get events sanctioned for the next year.
