I would like to make an announcement in regards to the Michigan Junior State Championships for 2022:

I have decided to not bid for the next several years of the Michigan Junior State Championships. This State Championship is administered by the Michigan Disc Golf Organization and I had been granted 2019-2021, the first 3 years of this event.

While it was incredibly fulfilling to have the honor to run this event for the last 3 years, I found myself unable to commit for the future of the event with all of my commitments.

I was overjoyed that we had 37 players in the 1st year, followed by 44 in Year 2, and finally 70 this year. I never would have expected the incredible growth when I talked the MDGO into spinning the Juniors off into their own event.

I would like to thank my Asst TD, Shawn Herbert, and staff Mario Ramirez, John Norkowski, & Timothy VanSteenburg for helping every year at the event.

Also thanks to Discraft Disc Golf, Bob Julio, and Disc Baron as major sponsors for the event. Without their backing, I would have never been able to run the event as I wanted to run it as a true amateur event.

I wish for nothing more than success to Larry LaBond who will be hosting the event the next few years and best of luck to the players!
