Our final week of the regular season was nothing short of exciting! With valuable points up for grabs, 49 players came out to brave the heat and swirly winds in an effort to secure their spot in the Finals next week!
We put a temporary basket straight ahead on Hole 3, and moved Hole 7's teepad back to the path. No OB island on Hole 9, but normal OB's everywhere else.
Scores were nicely staggered, but it was three teams at -16 that threw-off for the 1st Place payout. Ultimately, it was Matt Nation and Logan Robinson who took home the victory!
Perhaps more important than the money was the points. Congrats to Liberty Clarke and Jared Heister who each jumped off the bubble with 25 points; securing their spot in the Finals. Full post about our finalists to come shortly. Stay tuned!
Hole 3's temporary basket was the host of our Closest to Pin competition. Up for grabs was a SWEET Disc Golf Pro Tour Portland Open disc, signed by many of the top touring professional disc golfers. Huge thanks to Mitchell Crain for the awesome donation. In the end, it was an ACE by Zach Todd to win the prize!
With the removal of the island green on Hole 9, it felt fitting to put our Longest Putt competition out in the swirly winds. That didn't stop Nick Mannen though, as he hit a huge birdie putt to secure a Next Adventure and Stumptown Disc Golf membership for him and his partner. Congrats!
In addition to Zach's ace on Hole 3, we also saw another ace by Aaron Heister on Hole 2. They split the ace pot and each got 5 bonus points.
