Weather is looking nice, I'll be there. I've re-arranged my schedule a little bit and should be able to make Wednesdays work for a while longer. Joe Arnet and Ben Calhoun will also step in and help here and there, so let's keep this going!

The new summer league has been created and it is here: (so this is the last news post I'll make from the winter league page)

Well after much deliberation I have decided to postpone the league final one week, based on the extremely poor conditions at Bandemer Park. All of the MDGO Berths and CTPs will be held for Wednesday March 30th. Let's hope for better conditions and a good turnout.

We are still on for a regular league night tonight. I will be there.

This upcoming Wednesday March 23 we will have the first annual Glow League Finale. This will essentially be a singles tournament playing all 27 holes.

Date: 3/23/2011
Eligibility: This tournament is open to any and all players.
Location: Bandemer Park
Registration: 6:30-7:00
Tee-off: 7:15
Two divisions: Pro and AM.
Entry Fee: :$10
Prizes: Cash and four (4) MDGO State Finals Berths will be awarded. Top two in overall points and the winner of each division. The berths will carry down to anyone who is already qualified. This tournament will be worth double points and it will count in the overall standings.

Weather is looking OK.. High of 32, low at night in the upper 20s. This is like spring weather compared to normal. Speaking of spring.. Including tomorrow we have only FIVE league days remaining. The final winter league day will be March 23rd. Cheers!

This week if the reports are correct then we can expect to have deep snow conditions for Wednesday evening. Glow is definitely ON, we have never canceled due to weather and we won't start now! Expect to play reds, maybe whites, we'll make the call tomorrow night based on overall conditions.

LED lights are mandatory for this evening. You will not be allowed to register if you plan on throwing glow plastic. I don't see this as a problem for the regulars though. :)

So here's to the diehards! Let's throw some frisbees in a blizzard while the rest of the population is inside bitching about it! Woo-hoo!!! CHAAA!!! Hell yea!!!

Well I just saw Black Swan last night and it was pretty good, so a reference to it is necessary. Anyways, not sure how the pads are looking out there but tonight is on and White-Red is the plan. It will be either myself or Joe Arnet running it if I can't make it (still 50/50). Hope to see all the die-hards out tonight, it should be a good night for some glow and double points!

By the way this league WILL have four berths for the 2011 MI State Finals to award. Keep racking up those points to get yourself in position to win a berth!

Welcome to the Christmas Edition of Bandemer Glow. Should be nice conditions for the round this evening.

There will be some give-aways tonight, with me being in the giving mood. I have a "Discilanti Open" T shirt size large which is a highly prized collectors item among some other goodies. I don't know. I'll be looking through my stash for some good stuff. Plan on an extra $1 to get in on the CTPs.

We should be playing blue-red if the blue pads are in good shape, otherwise it will be white-red.

Reg closes at 7 and as always give me a shout if you are running a few minutes late.

Tomorrow it will be kinda cold, in case you haven't realized it yet the weather has turned! Now is the time for the true die-hards to crawl out of their caves and slap on those LED lights to throw some plastic in the snow. But the cold means double points, both in the MICPS and the Glow league point series. Double points whenever the temp drops below 15 degrees with windchill included.

We will play white-red tomorrow. Ben C has (maybe) shoveled the pads today, but if not I plan to get out there early with some salt and a shovel. Please post on the scene if you know the condition of the pads right now, it would be nice to know.

Partly cloudy. Lows 5 to 9 above...with wind chills around zero. West winds 5 to 10 mph.

More news: Washtenaw County Glow will have berths to give away to the MDGO State Finals Tournament in Ludington, MI. These berths will be awarded based on overall standing in the league. More details to come soon.

For all of the players that typically use glow plastic you may want to look at using LEDs tonight. We could have some snow accumulation on the ground which makes the finding of glow plastic and arduous task at best. Send me a message if you need some advice on how to get the LED stuff. Above all make sure your lights are taped on in a warm room temperature environment before you get to the park. Having the right gear can make the difference between a slow frustrating round time and a great round. Cheers!

Ace pool is at fifty four dollaz and it's already been hit twice this season. Layout is blue-red.

Night before thanksgiving, most people have the day off.. Should we play the full 27? Post your thoughts in the Talk section.. I will not be there this week, Joe Arnet will be there to take names and distribute the winnings. It will be up to him and the players to decide the layout.

Points are now accumulating in the Winter MICPS. 13 leagues and counting state wide.

Wednesday night: GLOW of course
Thursday: play a morning round with the family! Or go to Lansing to play with Scott Ransley.
Friday: ACE RACE at Hudson Mills. Be there, it is always a good time. Reg closes at 11am.
Saturday: Saturday Doubles at Indy Lake should be big this week, no tournaments going on. Reg closes at noon.
Sunday: Kensington Doubles should be pretty big this week also, but it always is. There is also a tournament at Rolling Hills this weekend but it's full already.

We are finally starting to get those low temperatures typical of November. Snow will be on the way soon but for tonight we are looking clear with temperatures in the low 40s during the round.

We start again at 6:30 tonight and we are going to play Blue-White 18 holes. This is the last week before we start the Michigan Cooperative Point Series Winter. I will add some CTPs tonight for the good LED lights from the Throw Shop. Ben will also have some for sale. Three nights away from a full moon, so we should be well lit...

Good night of glow last night.. Nice to see the new and familiar faces out throwing LEDs and glow plastic.

Congrats to Ben Calhoun who pulled the "U-pick" which allowed him to pick his partner. He smartly chose Bob uh, Smart and they shot a perfect -9 on reds on their way to a respectable -13 winning score on whites and reds.

2nd place team Dan Lee and Justin Holley (-12) were buoyed by an ace by Dan on hole 8 reds. This is not an easy hole to deuce much less ace so NICE shot Dan.

3rd place and last cash was Brooke P and Tim W winning the CTP throwoff to hole one.

We finished around 9pm so for those of you on the fence about coming out, you will be home by bedtime :) If we ever play more than 18 holes it will be announced well in advance.

Winter MICPS Point Series will start back up in less than two weeks. First glow league round to count in that will be 11/24.

Also cheers to "Mint Berry Crunch" for sending the evil Chtuhlu back to oblivion!

Last week saw a good turnout on a blah night with some rain towards the end of the round and cold temperatures. 15 players on the blue and red layout. Bob Smart and Chris Westphal took the victory, with 13 out of 18 holes birdied. Scorching hot! Ben Calhoun and Anslie Newman were 2nd with a -11, and last cash went to yours truly and "Taco" Bill Flores with a -10 including an ace on hole 7 red.

Good to see some new faces out at Glow and hope you all can make this a regular thing that grows and glows.

Don't forget to pick up those LED lights for when the snow starts to fall. Ben Calhoun and the Throw Shop have the best lights I've used so far. Tape it on once for the season and forget about it. Easy to turn on and off and easy to see the disc at night. I use them on all of my discs and I will never go back to the bobber lights or glow plastic.

This week we are at Bandemer, 6:30pm start as it will be for the rest of the season. Red and White layout this week. Point Series rounds will start in two weeks!!
