First round will be singles from the long tees on the West course pitting four, four-man teams against each other. We currently have commitments from FSU, CMU, SVSU and Delta/Cornerstone. Each of the four teams will rank order their four players. All #1s will play in a foursome, all #2s etc. Each player will play a six-hole match-play contest against each of the other three players in the foursome.

Based on the team scores after the singles rounds, the top two teams will play doubles for first and second place, while the other two teams will play doubles for third and fourth on the East Course.

In anticipation of a B team from CMU and a B team from FSU, those two teams of four will go head-to-head playing doubles the first round on the East course, then singles the second round on the West course.

All players will be earning match play points as part of the Cooperative Points Series toward qualifying to compete in the 2017 Michigan Match Play Championships. The field this year will be 32, $1,000 added cash going to the singles winner!!

Join us for an historic college match play event hosted by Central Michigan University, Ferris State University and Huckerreportcollegiate.com on Sunday, November 6th at Deerfield Nature Park! Registration begins at 9:00. Tee off at 10:00.

We will be piloting a unique match-play format for use at the first-ever National Collegiate Cup to be held this summer at a date and location to be announced. During the proposed National Collegiate Cup event, college teams (made up of 4-6 players each) will receive awesome player’s packages and compete for a top prize of at least $2,000 that will be donated to the general scholarship fund of the winning school for the purpose of helping to endow a disc golf scholarship!

The format we will pilot on Nov. 6th is as follows: During the morning round, players will play one 18 hole round wherein they will play one, 6-hole match against each of the three other players in their foursome. Each 6-hole match is worth 2 points. Should the players tie, each would win one point for their respective teams. Should a player win that match, s/he would win two points for their team.

During the afternoon round, players will play one doubles round against a team from another school. During that round, the teams will play three separate 6-hole matches. The format for the first 6-hole match will be ‘best-shot doubles.’ The format for the second 6-hole match will be ‘best score doubles,’ and the format for the third will be ‘alternate shot doubles.’

Because the primary purpose of this event is to pilot a format which might be used for the first-ever National Collegiate Cup, all college players are encouraged to attend and participate—regardless of the number of players from their school! We will patch together 4-person teams for the purpose of the pilot.

The cost to participate is free, with $80 cash being added that will go to the winning 4-person team.
