Sorry for the confusion, folks. Make sure your calendars updated correctly for the Pelham League start date on Tuesday 5/2, and not 5/3. Thanks to Billy Demarino and Bill Bruce for letting me know of the typo.

Side note for those that don't know: Wednesday, 5/3, is the start date for the Manchester Disc Golf League, run by our sponsor Breakin Chains, and the Queen City Disc Golf Club.

It'll be a big week with two leagues launching. Come out and show your support for both!

Mark your calendars!

Pelham Disc Golf Club's Tuesday league, sponsored by Breakin' Chains Disc Golf, will have it's first official round on Tuesday, 5/3. Cut off for checkin is 5:30pm, so come early! I will be there by 5pm to get the signups going.

We're still finalizing details on the format for this year, but I should have the new 2017 league site created and players imported sometime next week. Next communication will come from the new site and will provide more details on the buy-in, point series format, and things of that sort.

If you didn't show up for any rounds last year, this will be the last email you receive. All players from 2016 will be auto-imported to the new 2017 season and will continue to get news updates from the new DiscGolfScene site.

The course is in great shape, and the weather is now prime for getting in some practice rounds before the official league start. See you on the course, and stay tuned for more updates!

This is going to be a fun day. "Team Winners" take all. Pelham versus Manchester - choose your side. Any "Free Agents" will be assigned to Pelham or Manchester morning of. 1st round will be singles. Second round will be dubz. Lowest Team score - both rounds combined is "Winner Takes All"!!

We will be serving a delicious hot lunch with all the fixings, cooked in dutch ovens over the Dakota Fire Holes. I regret to tell everyone that Dan Lavoie, one of our own league members has passed away. I only knew Dan through disc golf this season, but he brought good laughs to the rounds. He also helped out when he could. I never saw someone so happy to take a chainsaw to some trees. I'm sure they got in his way a few times. It sucks to lose one of our own. Please keep Dan, his family, and his friends in your thoughts and prayers.

To gauge most improved players this year I compared the average of your first 2 rounds with your last 2 rounds, then ranked to see who improved the most.
Then I did this again with your first and last 3 rounds, then 4 rounds, then 5, then 6, then 7. What I saw was that there were 4 players who were always at the top of these ranking lists. They generally improved between 6-8 strokes from beginning to end of the year and all earned the most improved players award this year. They are:
- Justin Ober
- Bryant Chamberlin
- Trevor Howe
- Lance Krzeminski
Each wins $10 Cash and a $10 Gift Cert to Breakin Chains.

When I reviewed the people that played AT LEAST 14 rounds this year and compared the averages of your first 7 rounds with your last 7 rounds, ALL OF THESE PLAYERS IMPROVED THEIR AVERAGES! Pretty awesome to see this. It is proof that coming out and playing more will help your game improve! Keep this in mind for next year!

Most Valuable Player Award

Special recognition to this player who is much more than a player in our league. He inspires us all, and is one of the most selfless and motivated people I know. He has done more work to improve the Pelham disc golf course than all of us... combined. Mega props go out to Mark "The Ravinator" Ravenelle for all that he does and continues to do.
As a token of the league's appreciation, we presented Mark with a Dynamic Discs hat, pack of Blue Moon beer and an MVP Bottle opener to get those started.
The league also contributed $310 to Mark for course improvements to cover overages in this year's budget for the tee-pad rework. Thanks again Rav, you da man!

Hello Hi Hey everyone!

We're now officially one week away from the end of the year league finale! It's time to start getting excited and to start coming together to make this year's event one to remember!

Here's the timeline for the day:

Round 1 (Singles): 9:45am - 11:45am
Lunch and Awards: 12pm - 1pm
Round 2 (Dubz): 1pm - 3pm (estimated)

Lunch Details and What YOU can do:

There will be Pizza! Plan on the league and Breakin' Chain's providing a couple slices of pizza for each player. I'll be asking your pizza preferences during registration and placing the order to Pelham House of Pizza for delivery during the lunch break. You'll have your choice of Pepperoni, Cheese, or Green Pepper pizza. In addition to the Pizza, I'll also be bringing the plates, napkins, soda and waters.

As we do every year, we also encourage players to bring something to share! This could be for pre-round, during-round, lunch hour, or post round consumption. Breakfast items? Granola bars? Crock of Chili? Chips? Salads? Fruit? Brownies? Beef Wellington? The possibilities are endless. If you do bring something that requires a serving spoon or utensils, please bring those if you can as well.

In addition to food stuffs, I'm looking for people who can volunteer to bring the following:
1. Larger Coolers with Ice (lets keep the water, soda, and other liquid consumables cold)
2. Tables (The more the merrier. We need space for the food, eating, etc.)
3. Ez-ups/Tents (for protection from sun and cloud leakages)
4. Other stuff you know we need or want that I failed to mention?

Remember, this is a league run by us for us, so let's all pitch in to make this this year's league finale an event to remember!

Event Details:

First Round - Singles, but not your ordinary singles.
I've calculated everyone's averages for the season based on all your previous rounds (not just your "best 15"). For this round you will be competing against your own average, trying to be the player that beats their own average by the most number of strokes. To qualify for a beat-your-average prize slot you must have played a minimum of 3 rounds during the season to establish a fair average. Prizes will be awarded for the top 5 average beaters. A prize will also awarded to the overall lowest round score, with all players competing for that regardless of number of rounds played.

Second Round - Equalizer Dubz
We'll be using your averages again for this intentionally not-so-random doubles match, with a goal of equalizing the skill levels across all doubles teams. We'll be pairing the highest with lowest averages to make teams, creating pairs from the top and bottom of the player list until we reach the middle. Prizes will be awarded for top 3 Dubz teams.
Note: If the Ace Pot still isn't hit after the Dubz round we will do a mini-CTP throw off to decide who takes home the pot.

Awards - Payouts for the points series this year will go DEEPER than any year prior. How deep will we go? You'll have to show up to find out!
Prizes will be awarded for the season-long points series leaders, singles round winner, top 5 singles round average-beaters, top 3 doubles team winners, and other special prizes to be announced during the awards ceremony.

We will have and Ace Pot and MANY CTP prizes in play for both the Singles and Doubles round. I'm still working through finalizing the payout and prizing plan for the event, so if you have a donation you want to make on the CTP prize (or other) front, let me know by sending me a message or posting a comment on the discussion thread!

The Pelham Tuesday points and tags series has come to an end, but that doesn't mean you can't still play on Tuesdays! Casual Tuesday rounds are now in effect and encouraged with a 4:30pm start time for those that can make it. We'll be keeping it real simple, flippin' discs or using a deck cards to break up into groups and go.

Also remember that the end-of-season league finale is on Sunday, 9/18 @ 9am. More details on that still to come in a separate news post, but plan on two rounds with lunch in-between.

Thanks to all that came out this Tuesday for the last points round. Everyone played as quickly as they could and fortunately all groups finished with only minimal glow disc usage. Mega-props to you all!

We had a 3 way tie for first place this week -- Greg Bianco, Noah Proctor, and Vijay Kakkad all posted a 51, taking home 42 points each and tags #2, #3, and #6 respectively.

CTP for the par 4 Hole #5 was dominated by Matt Stolarz. He banks $24 and a couple bonus points for the win.

We had an ACE this week! Trevor Howe showed his skills with a masterful ACE on Hole #13. Unfortunately, if you don't pay into the Ace Pot for the week, the Ace Pot does not pay you out... Trevor does take home 5 extra points for the ace, and a $1 consolation prize.

Regarding the Ace Pot funds -- Given recent news from the town of Pelham that we will not be receiving the extra funding we had been expecting to pay for overages in the current tee pad improvement project, we will be changing the previously proposed allocation of the un-won Ace Pot funds to cover these overages. There will still be some remaining, roughly $30, that will be used to seed an Ace pot for the finale day.

Hey everyone, thanks for your patience on the posting delay, extra busy week on my end. I know everyone is eager to check the standings since we're rolling up on just one tuesday points round remaining (9/6) before the Sunday finale (9/18). Don't forget to come out early again next week due to the earlier darkness. We'll cut off check-ins at 5:25 for a prompt 5:30 start. You may still want to bring a glow disc or two, just in case...

Ken Marshall showed his stuff this week, matching the league season record high of 47 and taking home Tag #1 and 51 points.

AJ Jasper took home $30 for his CTP win on Hole #4.

No aces again this week brings the pot up to $251.
What happens if no one hits the ace next Tuesday?
$50 will go into an all-play Ace pot for the finale, $50 towards more CTP prizes for the finale, and the rest to go deeper with payouts for the league points series. If no one hits the the $50 ace pot after the second round on Sunday, a quick all-play CTP will decide the winner.

Player involvement is ESSENTIAL for course maintenance. This is a FREE public course. Everyone plays for FREE and enjoys a great course! The reality is the Parks Dept has only 2 people managing all the town parks, camps and programs in the town. The Park's Dept. doesn't have the labor to do some of this work. That's why we need player volunteers to answer the call to HELP!! We don't call for volunteers often, but when we do dam it - answer once in awhile !!!

This course has a long history of volunteers making Pelham what it is...One the area's finest disc golf courses and it's getting even better. Be a part of that history and tradition of volunteering.

We had 52 players this Tuesday with lots of points earned across the board. There are only 2 tuesday league rounds left to win more points before the league finale and awards on Sunday, 9/18. More details on the finale still to come, but don't forget to SAVE THE DATE (9/18) in your calendar. Do it. Do it.

We managed to play our fastest round this week, wrapping up before 8pm. Great job to everyone to keep the pace moving as we are now racing against the darkness. Please be sure to arrive early for the last two rounds. We will be starting exactly at 5:30, and not extending check in time as we have done in the past.

On to the results...

Greg Bianco edged out the competition this Tuesday, taking home Tag #1 with a 49 (-7). He takes home 57 points for the win, and an extra 2 points for his Disc CTP win on Hole #3.

Jon Ross secured the win on the Hole #2 Cash CTP this week, good for $32 and a couple extra points as well.

No aces again this week means pot is up to $222! That's too many twos to not win it now!

No aces this week means we're now up to $161 in the pot.

The points race is really heating up now, with over 12 players already reaching 15 rounds played or more. Remember you want to play at least 15 rounds if possible since we total the points earned during your best 15 rounds. Any more rounds than 15 and we'll only count your best 15 rounds. We have 4 league rounds remaining at this point and there are 17 other players that can reach the 15 threshold if they play remaining rounds! No doubt this points race will continue to get closer and closer as we approach the end.

Another huge turnout at 53 people! Thanks everyone for bearing with me yesterday. I'm a little out of practice running things. It seemed to go smooth enough where I may even be invited back next year. I'm not sure but Kody may have accumulated the most single round points tonight at 60 with his first place finish and CTP win. Nice job Kody. Justin Ober had a 20 stroke improvement over last week, also an excellent job.
On to the news...
-Discs are now on sale for everyone. Come get them. We have 14 Trespasses, 6 rivers, and 3 Truth's left. Get them while they are hot and available. Sorry guys, no more Judges. If we sell all these discs quickly we may put in another order, but we have to sell everything first.
-Our very own gopher hunter, Mark Rav, has been hard at work as usual and is looking for your help with tee pads. The course improves due to volunteers. Expect a post from him detailing what we need. It's easy stuff and we only ask that you give a little of your time.

Hey guys, you're stuck with me for the next round. Vijay will be going on a much needed vacation, so I'll be taking over. 51 people came out on a nice cool Tuesday. Alex Maclean shot a blistering personal best at -6. Jon Ross took home last years league Buzzz for his CTP shot on hole 3.

League discs will be on sale again next week. If you did not check off a disc when we did our polls, they will be open for everyone to buy after Tuesday's round. Get them while they are hot, and make sure to thank Matt Stolarz for an excellent job on the artwork.

Billy Crane stepped it up this week, tying the 2016 Record with a 47 (-9) and taking home Tag #1. This is the third consecutive week the League Record has been tied. Who's going to be next??

Fred Lusky also came out strong today with an ACE on Hole #6, good for $74 and a bonus 5 points for the Ace.
Ace pot back to $0.

CTP on Hole #12 went to Dan Hofmann, who banks $24 and 2 extra bonus point for the CTP win.

Thanks to all players who provided feedback on the league disc order at the round today. We're trying to get an idea of who would buy which discs in which weights so we can order the appropriate ratios of each. He takes home tag #3 and a hefty bag of 58 points.

ACE POT WAS HIT TODAY! Corey Marchand aced Hole #7, which also happened to be the bonus CTP of the day!
He takes home the money pot totaling $200 for the ace and an Eric McCabe signed Dynamic Disc donated by Bill Bruce from Breakin' Chains for the bonus CTP.

We had a two way tie for the top spot this week. Both Bill Demarino and Alan MacLean posted a 52 (-4) to take the top tags and 47 points each.
Based on incoming tags to break the tie, Bill took Tag #1 and Alan settled for the #2.

Scott Poland was this week's CTP winner on Hole #8, taking home $19 for his prize.

We had a 3 way tie for first place this Tuesday. Ken Marshall, Billy Crane, and Noah Proctor all finished with a 52 (-4). Ken Marshall gets to enjoy his second consecutive week of taking home the precious #1 tag.

Have you ever thought, "Hey, wouldn't 18's tee pad be better if it didn't have an OB in the center of it after it rains?" and "Wow, someone should really screw this tee pad down". This is your chance to be that someone! If you've ever had those thoughts, or ones like it, come down and give us a hand. The more people we get, the quicker we can get back to throwing. The course doesn't improve on its own, it is because of volunteers. So even if you can only give a little bit of time on Saturday, please any bit helps.We will have some snacks and stuff. I'm sure you may have heard a bit of buzz around the upcoming disc golf course at Franklin Falls ACOE site in Franklin NH. Here's the deal, I know you all dream about those epic dam courses like Buffumville, Tulley, and Barre. Well guess what, we're getting one in NH! The site is absolutely gorgeous. It's about 30 minutes North of Concord and is going to play in the woods, in the catch basin with lots of variety!

There will be a benefit tournament that will go down on Memorial Day, Monday may 30th 2016. The goal of the doubles tournament is to raise money to help fund the installation of baskets and tee pads. Much of the site is already cleared with just a few work days remaining. The future course will be playable for the tournament on varying temp-baskets.

Thanks to everyone who came out and played in the first league round of the year. Special thanks to all the league admins and helpers who pitch in to keep this league going and growing. We had 37 total players on Tuesday, making this the biggest league opener in Pelham disc golf history!

Our first round winner was Alan MacLean with a score of 52, being the first to take home the shiny new Tickheads Tag #1.

Hole #1 CTP winner this week was Vijay Kakkad (thats me!), taking home $21.

No Aces this week means Ace pot grows to $29.

A quick note regarding tags -- We are tracking tags in the "Payout" column on the site this year so that you can always see the tag assignments on the leaderboard tab view, along with the scores and points. For example, if you see you got a $6 payout for a round, it means you were "paid out" tag #6. Pretty simple. Don't get confused.

Why are we doing this? It's because DiscGolfScene only allows us to track either Tags or Points, but not both. We do both because we like both. We used to relay the tag info in the post-round news post, but by overloading the cash payout field we've essentially worked around their limitation and can finally see the tag info when viewing the round details. The only cash payouts we do for our league is for CTP and Ace, so we will continue to mention those in these news posts following the round.

Hey Everyone,

Spring is here and its time for another league season at Muldoon! First things first, there's a few changes this year that I wanted to share.

5:30pm "Tuesday Tickheads Tag League" will be the only official league round for tag swaps and points earning this year. First official Tuesday round will be April 12th @ 5:30pm. You must purchase tag ($10) and be signed in by 5:30. Come early!

9:30am "Social Sunday's" is a new concept this season, mixing up the Sunday morning activities, adding variety and making it a bit more informal. No tag swaps or league point rounds. Most days we'll be flipping discs @ 9:30am for some Random Dubz action at Muldoon. At least once a month, however, we'll plan a Traveling Tickheads day. Instead of heading to Muldoon, we instead all meet up at one of the other amazing courses nearby. Let's venture out of our comfort zones and test our skills in the wild! If you have a favorite course or a home course you want to nominate for consideration, post a comment on our DiscGolfScene 2016 league site! We're also aiming to run a cash pot tourney or two this season on Sundays, to mix it up even further.

Lastly, theres a bit of change in the league Admins for this year. Greg Bianco has stepped down from all Admin-type activities for this year. Martin Desch has moved out of the area and had to step down as well. Jeff Furbush and I (Vijay) will be the primary contacts, organizers, and score takers this year. The man, Mark Ravenelle continues on as our trusty Course Commander. Ryan Metivier stays on this year, hopefully helping out to get some tourney action coordinated and directed. If you want to step up and join the lead crew this year, get in touch with any one of us. Do it. Do it.

So... when are we starting again??? Well, we've got the Birdie Bash coming up at Muldoon first, then a couple get-that-arm-in-shape warm-up rounds before we go official -- check it:

Top 5 round finishers earn additional bonus points:
1st - 5 pts
2nd - 4 pts
3rd - 3 pts
4th - 2 pts
5th - 1 pt

(For example, finishing 1st out of 30 players earns 35 points)

Optional Closest To The Pin pot and Ace pot every round, all year!
Additional bonus points awarded for winning CTP (2) and Ace (5).
