I like to look at how many rounds players actually played and what it takes to make it into the top spots.
Last year "Kudos to the top three players who managed to get in 20 or more rounds of the max 28 rounds during the 14 week season."
This year three players got more than one a week, Dennis "Swami" Swanson and Jonathan Egner both with 15 rounds and Rick Saffeels with the most at 18 rounds for the season but down from 23 last year.
So what does it take to be in the Top Ten of the Leaderboard?
Here are the Average stats for the top ten players:
Top Ten Average stats
212.9 Points
12.6 # of Rounds 0.9 Avg Rounds / week
12.6 # of Rounds Counted 0.9 Avg Rounds / week
17.144 Average Points per Rounds
17.144 Average Points per Counted rounds
3.6 Wins
0.4 Aces
Only 4 Aces amoungst the whole top ten players. Mike Wilson & Tiger Discs both with one and not only did Jonathan Egner have two Aces, he had them in the same round. D.O.R.C.s (Day Of Rest Crew), Church Park, Regular tees 2x, 18 holes, Hole 2 & Hole 8. Hot shooting Jonathan and the 50 extra points helped secure 2nd place overall - Nicely done....
WINS - Yup that helps max your points per round. 3.6 wins on Average for the top ten players. Now Tiger Discs & Steve Jones beat that average with 4 each but it's tough when Rick Saffeels racks up 15 wins of his 18 rounds played. That is the same number of wins as last year - you are Mr. Consistent Rick Saffeels - Nicely done
Here are the Top Ten players
Leaderboard Position Player Points Total Rounds
1 Rick Saffeels 319 18
2 Jonathan Egner 245 15
3 Steve Jones 228 13
4 RYAN ROWLEY 226 13
5 Tiger Discs 215 11
6 - scottishrob - 206 14
7 Dennis "Swami" Swanson 194 15
8 Brent Cameron 180 10
9 THE "BEAST" OF THE WOODS 161 9
10 Mike Wilson 155 8
Now another great metric to look at is the points per round average to try and identify the sleepers who if they could just get a few more rounds in the season, at their current pt/round Avg, they would be up near the top - but you just never know unless they actually play the rounds.....
Now the highest point/Round average was 23 pts per round by Ivan Burford so I kept him in the list below even thou he only had two rounds for the season. Nice rounds Ivan hope you can get a few more rounds next season.
So in the top ten the average points per round average is between 12.93 & 19.54 (last year 22.8 & 40.69) pts per round. If I order the players who have at least 3 rounds by their point per round average here are the top players.
Top 20+ by Pts/Round Average with 3 or more rounds.
Current position, Player, Pts, # of Rounds, PTs/Round Average
55 Ivan Burford 46 2 23
16 Greg Axe 129 6 21.5
44 marshall d 64 3 21.33333333
34 Adam Rud 85 4 21.25
18 Jacob "SMURF THROWER" Severson 120 6 20
19 Shaun Kirk 119 6 19.83333333
5 Tiger Discs 215 11 11 19.54545455
28 AGRO JACKSON 97 5 19.4
10 Mike Wilson 155 8 8 19.375
48 Tyler Franklin 58 3 19.33333333
11 Matt "KARNAGE" Karnes 154 8 19.25
21 peter dinsmore 115 6 19.16666667
49 Josh Bullock 56 3 18.66666667
49 Grape Ape 56 3 18.66666667
49 Jason Pinkal 56 3 18.66666667
13 Dallas Trower 149 8 18.625
39 Vic Lippert 73 4 18.25
39 scotty don't- make putts 73 4 18.25
39 John "Gratch" Lewis 73 4 18.25
8 Brent Cameron 180 10 10 18
42 Java Joe 72 4 18
So it shows that you have to get out and try to get as many rounds as possible in, two rounds per week would really increase your odds of being in the top spots even if you don't win each round.
