One week left in the league brings the following updates.

Advanced Division has a 2 way tie (Joe & Chris) for first place with second place just one point behind (Tommy). Next week will be fun to watch to see if second place can jump the leaders to take first in the league.

Payout for the Advanced Division: 1st - $18, 2nd - $9, 3rd - $3.

Intermediate Divison is close as well. Jeremy in fist place has a 2 point lead over Jim. Randy is just one back in third place. Another close finish for the division, who will make the putts to take claim the league championship?

Payout for the Intermediate Divison: $30, 2nd - 15, 3rd - $5.

Recreational Divison has a tie as well going into the last week. Cassie and Justin are tied at the top of the division. Who will stay in bounds, which one will make the money putts?

All division have their own drama. Next will be fun!

Mojave Greens league week brought players from all over Antelope Valley, well at least Ridgecrest and Palmdale. A record showing for the first out of town league week had 5 players across the 3 divisions.

Starting off in the Advanced Division were Tommy and Aaron, yes I said Aaron. Aaron is alive and well and may make a few more appearances but has other things going on right now. Tommy and Aaron battled through the front 9 pretty close in score. The back 9, well let's say that it's quite a bit longer, less hole 15 in the short position (195 feet). Hole 10 starts off with a huge dogleg left paralleling a running track that is O.B. The entire fairway is about 60 feet with a rope line down the right side of the fairway. Way to easy to let a shot stray left or right and you are in big trouble. Basically don't waste all your energy on the front nine, you'll need some on the longer back 9. At the end of the round Tommy finished a +4, 59 and a 4 throw lead over Aaron with a +8, 63. Tommy now has bag tag #2! Aaron has surrendered his tag as he does not plan to be a regular at league play.

The Intermediate Division had Randy and Jim playing for the max league points of 3. Randy won the front 9 raw score and Jim won the back 9 raw score but only the total actually matters; Randy 63, Jim 64. The 3 points goes to Randy by 1 throw. Jim and Randy always play skins during their rounds, they tied this week and no quarters changed hands. Randy also moved up one spot on the bag tag leaderboard to tag #7 while Jim hung his head having to claim tag #8 in the loss. Make a frigging putt Jim and you won't have to hang your head in shame.

Cassie represented the Recreational Division this week taking home 2 league points. I will save the play by play of Cassie's rounds as I've learned that I like to live a long healthy life. Thanks for playing Mojave Greens for league week Cassie.

While taking scores Randy called out a 4 for hole 17 but quickly changed his mind to a 3. This one throw was the difference in not only him winning the week but also tying for skins with Jim. What say you all? Off with his head for cheating?

Saturday was a great day for disc golf. New season is underway for 2015. Good luck to everyone! Bag tags were also on the line. Tommy is holding the number 1 tag going into the first week of the league. The new league has 3 divisions; Advanced, Intermediate and Recreational.
The Advanced Division has 3 players registered; Tommy, Chris and Joe. Joe made quick work of the course recoding a -10, 45 to win the week and regain the bag tag #1! Next was Chris shooting a -6, 49. Tommy rounded out the Advanced Division trio with a -1, 54. Joe also took the CTP (hole 9).
Intermediate Division is the largest group in the club with 5 disc golfers; Randy, Jim, Jeremy, Pat and Kris. Scores for this division were pretty competitive. Pat took the weekly win shooting par at 55. Jeremy was close and maybe if he makes a few more putts can record a weekly win but this week he finished second. Jim encountered difficulty getting out of trees and placed third. Randy made it home in fourth and Kris placed fifth. Jeremy won the CTP on hole 9 and was closest overall.
Recreational Division has 2 players so far consisting of Cassie and Justin. Justin scored the weekly win and Cassie took second.

Freedom Park is unavailable next week for league play. The league will tag our game on the road to play at Mojave Greens at Edwards AFB (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=4277). I will be at Freedom Park this Saturday at 8 am, leaving by 8:15, for a caravan to the course for those that haven't been there before.
