You may Preregister for this challenge by posting your name and PDGA# in the Comments section.
Rules:
1) Tags must be attached to bags/carts and carried whenever you are playing.
2) You may challenge anyone carrying a tag
3) The challenge must be accepted by each participant before the beginning of the round to be valid.
4) Challenges are to be accepted, but circumstances may make it possible to be refused (time, injury, etc)
5) You may not hide your tag (in a pocket, etc) when you have a lower number tag. It is required to engage in a challenge at least 2 times a month, not including the scheduled events (this will be monitored).
6) If you leave during a challenge round (for any reason), you will forfeit your tag and graciously accept the highest numbered tag in the group.
7) In case of a tie, the match goes to sudden-death. You replay the course (starting from a mutually agreed upon hole) until someone wins a hole outright. For multiple player ties, same concept applies.
8) The current tag season will begin Saturday March 28 and will remain active until the final event sometime in November 2015.
9) If you lose your tag, you may be able to PURCHASE a new one for $5.
10) This is meant to be a fun event to challenge your fellow disc golfer. Anyone caught cheating or holding out (or purposely not bringing your tag) will be dealt with by the local players and will probably involve public ridicule.
11) Bag Tag matches during tournaments are automatic. Get together before the tournament starts so everyone knows what’s going on. At the conclusion of the tournament the person you won the lowest Bag Tag is in charge on making sure all tags are changed and is responsible for posting everyone’s scores to the website. (If Bryan Earvin is present at the tournament, he will handle this for everyone)
12) Tournaments and different divisions: if a tournament has different divisions playing different layouts, the competitor’s will split into common layout groups for the challenge. This can be overruled if everyone in that particular challenge agrees.
13) We’ll be utilizing www.discgolfscene.com to keep track of league standings. If you don’t already have an account there, please sign up for one using the email address or your PDGA# that was give when you purchased the tag. The account is free. If you use your email address or PDGA# you supplied me, your account will automatically be linked to the 2015 Darkside DGC Bag Tag Challenge when I add your information.
14) At the completion of each challenge, you must get the results to me via the following methods: Texting me (616-209-2070), post your scorecard onto Facebook AND tag me on it, or text me the scorecard (I prefer the facebook method). Once I receive the results, I will upload them to the website and the results will be displayed on the website and any tag updates will be made. PLEASE CONTACT ME PROMPTLY so the database stays updated accurately. IMPORTANT: The only way this will work is if I am contacted. The winner of the match is the one that is obligated to contact me. If I am not contacted and there is a discrepancy in tag numbers, the website will be the source of truth and tags will be redistributed. Can’t stress how important it is to report all challenges.
15) Scheduled Events: There will be 4 scheduled events. These will include the kickoff event and the Finals. To be eligible for the season ending prizes, you must have competed in 2 of the 4 events. The top 10 Bag Tags going into the Final event must compete to be eligible for the season ending prizes. The scheduled events are posted on the website.
16) Prizes: We will have prizes at all 4 events. The prizes in the first 3 events will be primarily gift cards to various locations of various dollar denominations. At the final event, we will announce the full season award winners and hand out those prizes (primarily merchandise). I will post what is awarded at each event prior to that event.
17) If you miss a scheduled event, you are not eligible to receive any prizes, as you must be present at the event to earn a prize.
18) Initial Tags will be handed out at the conclusion of the kickoff event. For those that want to join between events, you must contact Bryan Earvin. You will be given the next available Bag Tag and able to start challenging upon receiving the bag tag. (If you receive a bag tag between events, you are ineligible to receive any prizes pertaining to Biggest Jump until you compete in a scheduled event.
19) I will do my best to schedule the 4 events around any known tournaments.
20) You may text message/call me if you have any questions, problems, etc. Bryan Earvin – 616-209-2070
