As the sun sets on the 6th season of putting, there are many people to thank and congratulate. First off, we would not be anywhere without Sunnybrook allowing us to come into their establishment and do what we do. Week in and week out they have the facilities ready to go so a big shout out to the staff behind the main desk at Sunnybrook.
Their staff both in the Kitchen and in the Bar treat us like family. I am very happy, fatter, and a little more drunk, that they provide us with our "nourishment" to keep up going every week.
Chris Leo, Nick Cooke, Rob Dahmen, Louis Caponi, BDub, Brent Moreno, Justin Underwood - these guys have allowed me to roam a lot more than I ever have during the weekly sessions by manning the computer, keeping online, live stats while the games are going on, and tallying up our weekly averages that the Scene has provided for us. The league would not have run so smooth without all of these people playing their key role.
BDub and Samantha Gilbert get a special Thank You for running Double Tap, the second time around. This year, I think we gave out more money that ever before, the discs will be ordered within the week for the members and Derek Michalak won the Discraft Chainstar tonight in the Double Tap Members drawing. Double Tap all year, to say the least, has been ridiculously fun.
Ryan Herzog and Mike Cook get a big Thank You for keeping the percentages and doubles going every week A huge thank you to these two and to the eventual winners.
This past season we averaged 57 players a week and spanning 21 weeks we had 1,195 total players. Knowing this means the people mentioned above really played a vital position for us to relax and enjoy our Monday nights.
A big shout out to Papa Bryan Wolf Frawley for organizing our Swap Meets. I believe we held two of them and they were a lot of fun. More to come on those in the future.
During the summer months ahead, while nothing else is going on, a small crew will be looking into better ways at keeping score using more technology and less paper. Stay tuned...
Pardon me if I left anyone out who assisted along the way, there have been many wonderful people who came up to me, if only for a few minutes, and said to leave the table for a while and go hang out while they took over. I really appreciate it, Thank You!
I would be remiss if I dd not mention Ken Mango and Shawn Mascorro whose computer skills have allowed us to grow into what we are today.
Congratulations to all of the weekly winners of the 2014-2015 Sunnybrook Indoor Putting League and have a safe and happy Summer!
