I apologize for the delay getting this update posted.

This was my final year of running the bag tag. I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone whose helped over the past 4 years by assisting me at the events I've run; and those who have stepped up to run the tags at tournaments and other events I didn't get to play in. Thanks also to everyone who bought a tag during the last 4 years. The success and growth of the ADGO Bag Tag League is due to your participation. I've enjoyed meeting, socializing, and competing against all you in the various events.

Dustin Penwright is in the process of getting a group of people to run the bag tag league next year. If you have the time and ability to assist him, please contact him. He is a regular on the ADGO Facebook page. I'm sure he would love to hear from you.

So on to the results of the Finals.
We had a total of 44 people in this years event. It was little chilly in the early AM, but warmed into a beautiful day.
Congratulations to Matt Dollar for defending his #1 tag and taking home some serious bacon.

The 2014 ADGO Bag Tag Finals are still scheduled to be held this coming Saturday, Nov 22nd at Redan Park.

Weather forecast is currently showing temps in the mid 30’s to start and reaching the mid-fifties. 10% chance of rain and low wind. It should be a great day for the finals.

Sign In 8:15AM-9:00AM Please do not be late. I’ve got to set up the brackets.
Depending on attendance, there may be some people who have a 1st round buy. I will not be able to determine this, until 9:00AM.

You must have your 2014 ADGO bag tag with you to play in this event. I will need to view it when you arrive to verify the tag# you have.
NOTE!!! The tag you bring MUST match the tag you are showing on the discgolfscene leaderboard. If it does not, you will not get to play.

Bring something with you to eat. We will be moving as quickly as possible from round to round. There will not be time to “run to Subway”.

1st round to start as soon as the brackets are set up and I can get everything rolling

Seeded brackets will be set up based on your current bag tag#. Generally the lowest tag will play highest tag, second lowest tag will play second highest tag, etc.

Each round is 9 holes of match play, except the finals. Depending on the attendance (over 40), this may need to be reduced during the first couple of rounds. Finals for both A & B brackets will be 18 hole match play.
Once a player has won more holes, than there are holes remaining, the match is over. (e.g. If Player A has already won 4 holes with 3 holes remaining to be played, the match is over)
Note this new rule concerning tie breakers
If your match is tied after the scheduled number of holes, you will have a tie breaker to determine the winner. The 2nd tie breaker hole will play as a ‘clot if not’ hole. If someone does not outright win the hole, the person whose drive was closest to the basket will be the winner.

Do not turn in your tag when you arrive. Each match you play will be a match between yourself and your opponent. At the end of the challenge, swap bag tags (if applicable). It is the responsibility of the person who won the match to come report the results to me. I will need to verify each person’s bag tag# and the score (e.g. Player A – 4 holes; Player B – 3 holes).

Players who lose in the first round (or a play-in round) will have the opportunity to play in the B bracket. There will be a $5 additional charge per player, but this is added to the payout for this bracket.

General OB rules
2 meter rule is NOT in effect.
Surrounded by water is OB.
Football field behind hole #3 basket and on the right by hole #4 is OB. This means inside the chain link fence.
Over the residential fences on holes 6, 12, 13, 14, 17 are OB. Do not retrieve your disc during your match.

OB's
All of the paved walking path that runs throughout the course. Disc must be surrounded by asphalt. The path can only be used for the drives on holes 9, 11, & 13.
Hole 1 - Drive from the pad by the field house. Into the ball fields on the right is OB.
Hole 8 has a stone circled 'frog pond' on the right side of the fairway. It comes into play on the drive. Also, on the approach to the basket is a shallow ditch. In the ditch and surrounded by water is OB. Excess overflow water in this area plays as casual.
Hole 9 - a Mando at the dog-leg. After the dog-leg, a 'frog pond' comes into play on the approach shot to the basket. Black silk fencing on the right side of the fairway plays as casual. Over the black silk fencing behind the basket is OB.
Hole 10 - a double mando off the tee pad.
Hole 11 - the island hole. Missed shots will throw from the drop zone with a one stroke penalty.
Hole 13 - over the fence on the right is OB. There is a ditch behind the basket. In the ditch AND surrounded by water is OB. Over the ditch is OB.
I think that is all the standard OB's used at Moseley. Someone let me know if I missed one.

For the time being, when entering scores from matches, please include the player & the tag# they had at the start of the round in the notes area.

I will make a call sloped walls of the ditch between holes 2, 3, & 4 during the player meeting. In the ditch itself & beyond will be OB.
The sidewalks running through holes 2 & 3 will play as casual. Use group consensus if a possibly OB issue arises. (e.g. If you are playing hole 2 and your disc is laying on the sidewalk on hole 3's side of the ditch, you are OB.). The side walk by the parking lot on hole 3 is casual. In the parking lot (including leaning on the curb) and beyond is OB.

In or beyond the stone walled ditch is OB on holes 11, 14, 17, & 18 (or any other hole that a crazy bounce or roll ends up there).

The 1st bag tag challenge of 2014 is complete. 79 participants enjoyed the low 40 temps and 20+mph winds to compete.
Thanks to everyone who helped me get people registered, score cards filled out, score cards checked, and everything else.
The CTP payouts were very sweet:
#1 - $69 - Bob Braun
#5 - $ 69 - Adam (A-Ray) Ray
#11 - $69 - Brad Traylor
#16 - $140 - Verminator 'I only try to cash on the Big Bucks' Williams

Dollar took the #1 tag home shooting a 49. But had to almost birdie out the last few holes to take the card from Al Hause who shot a 50.
As you would expect, with 79 people we had quite a few ties. For this 1st challenge they were decided on a one hole playoff; clot if not format. We used holes 5, 11, 16, & 18 for these due to the number of ties.
