Three playoffs will be played this year. Ladies, Doubles and Pro's.

The Ladies:
Lori Mullen has won the 2014 title and gets $100! BUT... she has to defend 1/2 of it against 2nd place, Krystal Fromm. Krystal can win up to FIVE $10 skins from Lori. Krystal can only lose the skins she's won and can never go into the negative. Lori can only win back the skins she lost to Krystal. Both girls are invited to Stieny's for the awards.

Doubles:
The game is Switching Teams Best Shot Singles for a brand new portable Mach X. All the other players will get a free drink and some prizes at Stieney's post round.

Pros:
As always, heads up play for the Stony Cup and a cool $250. Cash, free beer and other prizes for the losers at Stieney's post round.

Of course all are welcome to Stieny's for the finals party. They are letting us use the back room and will have some free treats for us up there as well.

We will play 9 or 10 holes on the original 18 loop out in the open. I'd like to add the fairway or OB format too. Heres the tentative layout as of now: 1 & 2 short, 3 thru 6, then 15 thru 18 playing short 15 w the island. Fairway or OB on all but hole 17 and 18. Thoughts?

Here what Im thinking for the last 2 weeks of league.

Switching teams best shot singles.
This is a game where players play best shot but every time a skin is won you switch partners but each player keeps their own score. Each player takes a turn being partnered up with every player on their card that night. A group w an odd # of players = everyone on that card will be cali at least once. We will not force anyone to be cali for this format. Each player keeps their own score in their own line on the scorecard. At the end of the round players add up their scores as if they played singles. This way the players in the playoffs can still compete with the players not in the playoffs that night.

This format is for the doubles div but if the pros want to they can play it also.

Let me know what you guys think. We've never done this format before so your feedback is welcome.

In doubles We have a tie for 1st at 51 points between Josh Ballinger and Eric Roberts. They get a bye week while Tony V, Tokie, J B, and Bart Kowalski playoff for 2 spots in the finals.

The Ladies Champ, oh yes! is Lorri Mullen with 22 points. For every female that played this year and paid $1 to the league, we matched that $1 and we now have an $82 purse. Lorri wins a the $82 prize ... BUT... will have to defend half of it against the next female in points. Krystal Fromm. These two can play their heads up match this week or next if they want.

A 240' righty hyzer before 27 and a 260' lefty hyzer after 27. We played those 2 temp holes, the back 9 (19 thru 27) and hole 1 & 2 from the shorts, 13 holes par 42. A -4 (38) won in both singles by Herzog and in doubles by team Kowalski/Litts. Nice guys!

If you watched the 2014 PDGA worlds, you saw the way they did their O.B. lines out there. No lines, just a stake every 20 feet or so. Awesome! No more blowing out my quads before the round painting O.B. lines everywhere. From now on it will be spray painted spots every so few feet where the cut grass lines are a bit ambiguous and its up to the group to line it up and make the call. boom!

To avoid doing the payouts in the dark and in a rush, Cheryl up at Steineys Tavern a 1/2 mile away at 26 and Shelby, is going to let us use one of their rooms to give away all the final prizes / player party. SWEEEEEET!

We're going to run a "Finals 50/50" ctp for the last few weeks or so to raise money for pictures of beer (or whatever is legal for you to drink) for the 12 players who made the playoffs this year.... Oh thats right!

The format Friday night is the infamous Fairway or OB. If you don't land in the fairway on several designated holes, you add a stoke to your score. No drop zones or re-throws. You just always shoot from where your disc lands. So its more like "Fairway or Hazard" ... but OB sounds way worse and better :) All uncut grass is OB unless its in a fairway under a tree or a bush (hole 2 for ex). Paths must have cut grass to be in bounds.

Probable layout:
18 Longs. 1 thru 18. Shorts on hole1, 2 and 15 will be a island hole from the short pad.
Hole 3, Watch for OB paint left of the basket and long.
Hole 4, Right side of the fairway is OB all the way down. The left side OB ends just past the hill 40' short of the basket. Watch for OB paint
Hole 5, Both sides OB all the way down. Watch for OB paint just past the basket.
Hole 6, If you don't make it past the two big trees in the middle of the fairway its OB.
Hole 15 is the island hole from the short tee box. You must land inside the cut grass on the right of the basket and OB paint about 30' to the left of the basket... or add a stroke.

All the other holes are pretty well defined. WATCH FOR OB PAINT. Enjoy!

Format:
To limit standing around getting eaten by skeeters Ams will play random draw ALTERNATE / BEST SHOT DOUBLES. Both players drive every hole and you never shoot from your own disc. Best shot off the tee then alternate shot after that.

Pros play singles.

Tentative layout: We will play holes 1 thru 9 (minus the 2 holes that are not in the ground yet, holes 6 & 7) Then we play the new 18 starting with the new big hyzer shot down the hill. We will skip hole (old 15 over the river shot) thru old 17 and go up the hill (old, old 18) then 2 holes to finish (old, old holes 1 & 2.) I will have maps made up too.

Stableford is a long time league favorite where players / teams earn points on each hole. The player(s) with the MOST points wins. We've changed the pars on several holes adding six par 4's, a couple par 2's and par 5. The record on 18 longs is a ridiculous +33 by Tuna w 7 birdies, 4 eagles and an ace. Legend has it he 3 putted the 1000 footer for a 5 or it would've been more.

Great time this evening with 18 pro's, 29 am's and very few if any casuals out there. 47 of us battled in the light rain and wind. We had a great time and easily got in 18 shorts with time to burn.

The hot round tonight was -10 (44) shot in doubles by team Tony V / C Meador. Goeff Bennett and B Rad tied at -8 to take it down in singles.

Ladies took home both the ctp's tonight. Kryslal Fromm made a great shot on #17 where there still is a giant friggin tree laying on its side 40' in front of the tee box. Krystal's 2 foot park job won her a Ch Gl Firebird, Crystal Avenger SS, microfiber towel, free Slurpee, TGIF card and one point. Boom!

Lorri Mullen parked the other ctp on hole #18 and won the TOC 50/50 for $35 and a point. Great job ladies. Good time to remind you there will be a cash prize for the ladies champ this year.

All Friday night league players will get a PIAS punch card that gives a 20% discount on discs and a free disc with 10 punches. Every card comes with 2 punches. Plus you can leave your car with your name on it at their store so you don't have to remember it. If you cant make it to league, just stop in and mention "TEAM STONY" and they will give you a card but it may not have 2 punches on it unless you get it during league night.

Oh yea and they also gave us about $100 in plastic too! Boom!

Super tough layout tonight! I hope you guys enjoyed it as much as I did. Super long 25 is an awesome hole and we will be revisiting that hole again this season.

Big winner was Ted Stoebling taking home the most cash ever without acing. He won $98 beating the old record of $90. Really should've been just $90 but there were so many players tied for 2nd place we just gave the extra $8 from the $48 SvD side. Plus the $50 for winning singles = $98! Nice take Ted.

In doubles, 5 teams tied at +3 for the win. But it was so dark by the time we finished we couldn't do a playoff for 1st place. They ALL got 4 points and split the winnings. I would like to get those 5 teams a chance to playoff for the 4 points. 4 of those teams should only get 2 points.

- 50/50 TOC fundraiser again went to Brad Frase for $34 and 1 league point. $51 for the night for B Rad boom. ($115 raised so far)

An executive order has come down from Team Stony headquarters this morning. Due to the recent storm and all the damage still out on the course, we will play a 14 hole loop that will play like this:

Holes 1 thru 4 longs then the back 9 longs including the super long on hole 25 (old 9's tee box to current hole 24's basket) and we'll actually shoot down the hill on hole 27. Then we will be a sweet temp hole from a tee box half way up the hill to a basket on top of the hill. Par 48.

Make sure you are signed up by 5:55pm.
