should we have a sunday afternoon tag rd some week? ... maybe get a few more to show up ... and if 10-15 show up ... then divide and exchange tags for all after the rd ? I can't seem to get my third rd. in ! Last thur. only 2 people showed up ... Scott S and I .... so ... maybe turn out will be better this thur.??? I know the idea is to play one person for the tag ... but I think we could compete against several in one rd. even if not playing on same card ... exchange tags after the rd. ?

I like the idea of 3rd pin placements, as opposed to all longs. All longs is great...for awhile, then the course becomes familiar and anyone who plays it twice per week or more ends up taking the sam ... show more ›

I like the idea of 3rd pin placements, as opposed to all longs. All longs is great...for awhile, then the course becomes familiar and anyone who plays it twice per week or more ends up taking the same old routes over and over. I also like Scott Harmon's idea of unique greens. Something that gives our course a little frosting, so to speak.

glad Chris and Ryan have taken the time to plan new placements ... Im sure many of us will agree with some of them ... and some will need to be discussed in detail among all club members and then a decision made to progress to parks for approval. I can't think of any other way of doing this other than giving everyone that is a club member the opportunity to express their opinions. So thanks to Scott S for organizing tomorrows meeting ... I walked the course yesterday to get my thoughts together about course improvements/ basket placements etc ... I have been thinking about this since 2006 when the course first went in! ... :) ... this is the most fun we can have ... imo .... a club working together to improve the course .... I've actually be waiting to do this since 2000 when Tanner Duncan and I approached the Parks dept. about a disc course for Muscatine.

... He is a leader in course design and imo knows what he is doing ... it has a lot to do with offering golfers different shots having various levels of risk reward ...

... for example from the tee you could choose shot A which is more difficult and could result in getting out of trouble .. .where shot B would be easier but not give the golfer much of a shot at deuce ... thats just one example ... but a good hole for sure has "Score separation" ... (meaning if 4 golfers of equal ability would normally on that hole maybe have for example one person with a 4 one with a 3 and 2 2's ... ) then it separates rather than a hole where 90% all golfers get the same score ... like hole 2 short at Fuller ... hole 3 short at fuller .... you get the idea ... a good hole at fuller for score separation is hole 14 long and 12 long ... my favorites !

if you REALLY want to get a good course you need all 4 key ingredients !!!

anyway ... looking forward to making fuller better !.... I also would like to have US come up with some innovative greens! the area around the baskets ... for example turkey creek hole 2 elevated and hole 18 pole coming out large rock ! ... and if anyone has been to Token Creek in Madison to see those greens ... wow ... always wanted to create something similar ... go to their web site to view ...

I would have to agree somewhat with Chris about the set up now being too easy/boring whatever you want to call it ... I too like the course all longs ... :) .... but we would all agree we also need NEW placements so we have more than just all longs ... thus the planning meeting !!!!!

I at this point want to thank everyone who put time into cleaning up the course and getting it where it is today !!!! without this hard work we could not think about more pin placements and other improvements !!!!

And for it be'n 3 disc course I seen u throw quite few discs last thursday,

We just moved several pins, as far as 4 short.. in my 7yr olds opion is AWSOME. same for some other short holes too. I agree third placments on those holes Should be priority. 8 is short in long ... show more ›

Dog leg IMO. If there were no easy holes it would not be beginer or kid friendly.

I feel that the few holes that have lame short pins should be the first holes for getting new placements ... so for example hole 4 ... short is dumb ... so we could dig it up and move it or just get feedback and vote for new 4 placement ... then next imo is hole 8 or start with 8 then 4 ... 8 short is way past dumb and needs to go ... 12 would be next ... short is not as dumb as 4 and 8 but its still rather boring you could keep it and have 3 placements for 12? ... as we are getting these hole placements in we could get more ideas for different basket placements anywhere coolness/shot usage/score separation prevails ... :) ..... c ya all tonight

Also on Thursday i will bring a schedule for the rest of the league nights that i would like to follow, if others would like to make changes i wouild be happy to hear their input and adjust the schedule accordingly if its what the group prefers.
