Wow! FIVE CTP's? Each one $10. I do not have the list of all the players that won, but what a good day to come and try the handicap for the first time. Justin Schueller did that and he went home with a $10 CTP and $50 for an ace on hole 12. Good first day. Congratulations Justin! Justin took his winnings and went to the store. He came back with cold brew for all those who stayed for doubles. Congratulations to all of you that took home cash and thanks Justin for sharing the wealth. See you on Sunday.

We are back! There was a very good turn out of players for the first summer session of handicap at Riverfront Park. Big Al Ford destroyed the competition and took home first. Brian Zygmunt banged his way to second and Mike Schweitzer got third. There were two $10 cash CTP's. One went to Eddie Kirksey and the other to Andy Kimbel. There were two donate a disc CTP's. One went to Jeff Bone and one went to Mike Schweitzer. Congrats to all. Looking forward to a fun summer.

On one of the coldest days we have had this winter, I am proud to say that we had a good turn out for the handicap. John Fleming did not let the extra layers of clothes slow him down and he won first place with the lowest score of the day. Steve Szykulski continued his winning ways by taking second place and the CTP on hole 17. Aaron Cronk also had a good day, taking third place and the CTP on hole 6. Adam Brown's very first throw of the day was good for the CTP on hole 12. Welcome to our newest player, Ruben Vega. Thanks to eveyone for coming out and keeping our handicap strong.

Super Bowl Sunday and we had a great turn out. Steve Szykulski had a super day taking first place. Two of our new players cashed in with Jeff Hawley taking second and Jordan Geist got third. CTP winners were Eric ( steal the ctp from Steve ) CiGrand, Jean Carlos and Mike Schweitzer. Welcome to our newest player Parag Gagarawala. This season has gone very well. Bob Counts and Eddie Kirksey have added new ways to make our league fun and organized. Be sure to let them know you appreciate their efforts. We have 36 registered players and so far 19 of those players have taken home a payout. That is 53%. Since the CTP's were added, 9 different players have hit one. That is 25%. These are great numbers for a seasonal league. Lets continue to make this our best season yet.

Welcome to all of you! It was an especially good day for Jeff Bone. Jeff took first place and won a $10 CTP. Albert Bonilla took home some beer money with a second place finish. Al Ford did it again with a third place finish and a $10 CTP. It was a good turn out today, lets keep it going. Super Bowl is next week but there is plenty of time to play handicap before the party begins.

Here we are in a new year and back to Sunday morning handicap. There was a tie for first place and Al Ford won the throw off with Brian Zygmunt taking second. Jeff Bone took home third. There were two $10 CTP's. One won by Albert Bonilla on his first throw of the day and the other won by Eddie Kirksey. Another beautiful weather day and a good showing by the players leads us into the Holiday break. Eric Cigrand took first and won a nice payout. Chuck Cole took a solid second and John Fleming won a throw-off to take home third. Mr.CTP- Brian Zygmunt got the first $10 ctp on hole 7, Adam Brown squeezed one out on hole 17 for the second $10 ctp and Chuck Cole donated for a ctp on the tough hole 15 only to win it himself. Congrats to all. Welcome to a new player Bill Mauge. There was a spirited and fun doubles round after the handicap with very close scores between the teams. After some unfortunate tree hits by the leading team, Eric and Steve were victorious. The park will now be closed until 1-8-2012 and we hope players will still get together and play at some of the other great courses nearby. Next Sunday 12-10-2011 lets try to get together at Medard Park and play some doubles. Same time, 10:30. Medard Park is on Turkey Creek Road just south of Hwy 60 going toward Plant City. If you have not played there, you will be in for a treat at a challenging course. To get us started again in January on our first Sunday back, we will double the ace fund payout to $100 and we will have a buy-in ctp for $50. So keep your skills up, enjoy the holidays and come back with your game.

On a side note: Candy Roque recently placed in the money playing at the pro level and Jon & Brian Nowokunski were asked to officiate The State Final Volleyball games. Great people play disc golf. Another beautiful Florida day in November provided the right combination for Patrick Rush to throw one of his best rounds and come away with first place. Chuck Cole put out his best effort this season and came away with second and Jeff Bone put his drive about 5 feet away from hole 8 which helped him take third and win the $6 CTP. Mike Schweitzer won the not so CTP on hole 1 for $7.

I would like to find a night and a time where we can get some players together at the practice basket next to the intramural fields on campus. I have an idea for some team putting competition and would like to see if we can develope a fun way to get some practice. Please let me know if you would be interested and what night and time would work for the most players.

On a breezy day, John Fleming found his game and took first place. Gary Duke, who a week earlier had traveled to Texas with his dog and took 8th in the worlds ( CONGRATULATIONS! ), took 2nd place and won one of the $10 CTP's. Our leader, Bob Counts, took 3rd. Downtown Adam Brown won the second $10 CTP and Mike Schweitzer won a third CTP, which was a small cooler full of Heineken and an opener donated by Chuck Cole. The ace fund has hit the cap which will allow us to build the club fund and provide for future CTP's. If you have any fun ideas that we can use to build the club fund, let us hear them.

For the established players, Mike Schweitzer got first place, Bob Counts and Brian Zygmunt tied for second and Brian won the throw-off to break the tie. Brian has emerged as the CTP KING. For the second week in a row Brian earned a CTP and this time he took both CTP's. Congratulations Brian! Also want to congratulate Mel Hancock. Mel did his second round to establish and shot his best score to date.

Handicap scores are adjustedto the exact decimal point for the purpose of payouts. Your disc golf scene score will differ slightly as that system rounds scores.
In the event that 5 or fewer players show up, the handicap is cancelled.
In the event that the park is closed, handicap for that day is cancelled. If possible another park will be designated for open play or doubles on the days that USF is closed.
In the event that no one is available to provide the books on handicap day, players will record their scores, collect money, and payouts will take pplace the following week.
In the event that holes are unplayable due to nature or park activities, alternate holes may be implemented with agreement of group.

Bright sunny skies and a touch of fall temperatures made for a great day. Eddie Kirsey was the winner among the players who have qualified. Patrick Rush took 2nd and Bob Counts took 3rd. The stars were aligned for Brian Zygmunt. Brian hit the first ace of the season on hole 16 and took home the bag-o-discs CTP on hole 6. Enoch Lowry stopped in to play with us and took home the cash CTP on hole 17. Congratulations Enoch, good to meet and play a round with you.
A large group stayed for a round of doubles after handicap and the Brian - Chuck team showed that they are a tough team to beat, again.

Week 2 at Riverfront Handicap had a strong showing despite the number of players who could not make it because they were in the Taylor Park tournament. 5 New players ups our group to an even 20, a great start! Andrew Antoni was in the top three scores and walked away with the CTP prize which was $20 from entry fees, and $10 from buy-ins, netting him $30. Good job Andrew!
Next week begins league play with 5 players qualified. Prizes for next week will go to the top 3 qualified players. Those that have not qualified will have a chance to win CTP money. As of now the Prize Bank is $50, which will go toward CTP contests going forward, and we have another $25 added to the Ace fund. Aside from a cash CTP, next week if you would like to donate a disc, any disc, we will have a hand-me-down disc CTP. If you participate and win, you will win a disc from everyone who participates. Great way to get rid of some old discs you don't use. Someone could end up with 20 discs!

Today we began the 2011 / 2012 Season with a good turn out of 15 players. Everyone is establishing so a winning pot was available to be won after the round was completed. The top three scores did a CTP to hole 1 and anyone else who wanted a chance could pay an additional $2 and get in the CTP. A wise investment by Chuck Cole and a good shot sent him home with the first pot. Congratulations Chuck! It was a little windy, but I am not sure that was the reason for some poor scores. I am sure we will see many of these scores improve. A good doubles match followed the handicap with three teams within a stroke of each other. Bring your friends out and lets get some bigger numbers of players.

If you were at our most recent handicap event on Sunday, you heard from Patrick King and Joe G. regarding the installation of a new course in Tampa. Patrick is asking for our support in helping with the installation of basket sleeves and tee pads. This will be the very first public course in Tampa and from what I hear, it is located on some beautiful acreage located on the hillsborough river.The date for help is Saturday March 24th starting at 9am. If you have any shovels, post hole diggers, or possibly an auger, please bring them. You will need at park up at the entrance where there is an old baseball field. From there you will need to walk North towards the Hillsborough River. It is an open field for the first 200 yards before you enter into the trees, down by the river. The name of the course will be "King Oaks Canopy Disc Golf Course" for the sake of all the live oaks that are on the property. This is where the course will be.

With 22 players now qualified, expect bigger payouts for the top three in coming weeks! Also, the Ace fund should hit its cap of $50 next weekend. When that happens, more $$ will go to the CTP's. Look for 2 $10 CTP's next Sunday!
