The top 16 points winners can secure their berth in the Championships by paying the $50 registration fee by June 1st. All other points winners who pay the $50 registration fee prior to June 1st will be placed on a waiting list for open-spots on a first-come, first-served, basis. Open spots will be assigned on June 2nd. When more than one entry is received on the same day, the player with the most points will be the first added to the list.

Should all positions be filled, players did not make it into the draw will have their registration fees refunded.

Reminder. The finals of the MIDGC will be held this Saturday, April 28th at Hammond Hill. Double Points! The top 16 points winners get first crack to register for the $1,000 added Michigan Match Play Championships to be held on July 7th in Big Rapids. Field limited to 16. After June 1st, any remaining spots in the field of 16 will be open to all with MIDGC points on a first-to-pay the $50 reg fee basis.

While this plan is tentative pending MDGO feedback, I am proposing to host the first Michigan Match Play Championships on Saturday, July 7th at Northend Riverside Park in Big Rapids. Invitation only. Field limited to 16. The first 16 invitations will be sent on Sunday, April 29th to the top 16 MIDGC points earners who will have until May 31st to secure their spot. On June 1st, invitations will be sent to all other MIDGC points earners and registration will continue until all spots are filled. The entry fee will be $50. $1,000 added cash! Payouts for the top 4 match play winners will be $400, $300, $200 & $100. Payouts for the top three doubles winners will be $300, $200, $100. (The remaining $200 of the pool will be used to pay each of the 8 who finish 1-1 after the first two match-play matches $25 for their match win).

Optional side pools include the ace pool/cash ctp ($5), singles stroke play ($5), doubles stroke play ($5), and the two-person points pool ($5).....If you haven't played the two championship courses in Three Rivers, that alone makes it well worth the trip! Also, the points earned in your match play matches (the free ones) accumulate all season long with the winner earning a $300 book scholarship,and a berth to the MDGO State Finals.
