May 16th (Week 5) Recap:
We had 21 wonderful people show up to Wickes Sanctioned Singles tonight, with some impressive shooting in all divisions! Ace Pool now sits at $80.

Congrats to Brett Michaels Federspiel shooting the 2nd 1000+ rated round of the season, with a scorching 47 on the modified layout. Great shooting!

Congrats are also in order for Jonah Aguilera for taking down the Evolution Long Putt, and Kevin Briggs Jr. taking down the Beast Long Putt. Use your vouchers well!

Some exciting things are coming next week... I've just learned that the PDGA has modified its rules for Leagues, now allowing up to 2 different layouts to be played per week. With this, we will be playing 2 different layouts moving forward... one for MA1, FPO, and MPO, and another for AM2 and below. This will better protect ratings for everyone, and I'm glad the PDGA has changed its guidelines for this.

I will post more information as next weeks event gets closer, but I'm hoping to also get Hole 15 back into the rotation. Let's cross our fingers for some dry warm days ahead!

May 9th (Week 4) Recap:

We had 19 wonderful people show up to Wickes Sanctioned Singles for Week 4! Thankfully the rain held off, and the wind wasn't too bad, leading to some good scores in all divisions.

Congrats to Andrew Knoll for taking the Evolution Disc Golf CTP, and Kevin Briggs Jr. for taking down the BEAST Disc Golf Long Putt!

No aces were hit yesterday, so we are now sitting at $38.

Come out next week for more fun! If Hole 15 dries out enough in a week, we will put it back into the rotation and also work another safari hole in. More details to come!

May 2nd (Week 3) Recap:

We had 21 wonderful people show up to Wickes Sanctioned Singles for Week 3 of the league. We also had Andrew Knoll hit not one, but two(!) aces in one round to clear out the Ace Pool of $112. Congratulations! [He aced OG Hole 11 and OG Hole 17 if you're wondering]

Congrats to Andrew Knoll for winning the Evolution CTP, and Jason Jurek for winning the Beast CTP.

I am still debating what I want to do for Week 4's layout. Rest assured, the following will be happening...

Hole 9 Tee to Hole 10 Basket
Temp Hole 1 Basket in different position from Week 3
Temp Hole 2 will be playing as normal
Hole 2 will be a par 4 moving forward. It has consistently averaged ~4 strokes every week, with no 2's over our first three weeks.

Really only playing OG Hole 15 is up in the air... I will wait until early next week to see how dry the fairway is before I make that decision. As always, I'll be posting the official layout descriptions by Wednesday night.

April 25th (Week 2) Layout Update:

We will be skipping Hole 15 and Hole 16. The fairway on 15 is too wet, and I don't think Hole 16 is fair with how wet the left side is (casual relief would pretty much be a re-tee). Because of this, we will be playing two temp holes, similar to Week 1.

Hole "17" will play from 19s tee to a temp basket. There will be orange flags setup to mark and OB line, and yellow flags to mark a Hazard area. The basket will be in a slightly different position from Week 1. Make sure to take a look at it before the round to be familiar with the change.

Hole "18" will play from a temp pad to 19s basket, with OB being marked by orange flags and the fenced area to the right of the basket. The tee pad for the previous hole will not be as in play as it seems from the below screenshot... I'd recommend you give it a second if people are throwing the previous hole's tee if you're teeing off, but it will really take a pretty late anhyzer release to put anyone in danger. If you aren't confident with the wind conditions and people on the previous hole, just wait for them to tee off and be out of the way.

Hole 7 will be a par 4 this week, with all grass inside the walking path considered OB. Disc must be fully surrounded to be considered OB. A drop-zone is provided, but players have the option to take the lie wherever the disc was last in-bounds.

Hole 15 (Original Hole 17 on the course) will play exactly like Week 1, with any shots landing in the water (fully surrounded) to the left of the fairway and short of the walking path to the next hole as OB. A drop-zone is provided.

Any questions about the temp holes, please talk to me tomorrow. Make sure to take a peek at the Payout Table as well so you know how much money you could be competing for on a given week!

April 18th (Week 1) Results:

Thank you to all 16 people that came out for Week 1 of our sanctioned Wickes season! Though the course is still wet in spots, ratings ended up pretty good for the course, and with upcoming changes in the weeks ahead I think we will see even better ratings with some of the layouts planned.

Congrats to Andrew Savage shooting a -7, and unofficially shooting the first 1000 rated round of our season. Plenty more to come I'm sure!

Congrats to Jason Jurek (Evolution CTP) and Teran Hutches (Beast CTP) as well. Put those vouchers to good use!

Looking forward to next week... I anticipate Hole 15 and Hole 16 will still not be dry enough to play. We will most likely be skipping them again. The two changes that will more than likely happen will be turning Hole 7 into a par 4 (with area inside of walking path OB), and Hole 17 (our first temp hole tonight) having a slightly more challenging basket position. More information to come in a few days!

April 18th (Week 1) Layout:

The plan is to play the original 18 hole layout, with the addition of OB on Hole 17 if surrounded by water on the left side of the fairway. A drop-zone will be provided.

With uncertainty on how dry the course may be in some parts, we may end up needing to skip certain holes due to the "playability" of the fairways. The two holes most likely to be removed at this time are Hole 15 and Hole 16.

If Hole 15 and Hole 16 are not dry enough to play, we will be adding two temp holes after Hole 18. More information will be shared on April 17th if this will need to happen.
