About this league
Fee to join $10
Fee per round $5
A 10 week summer season in which players compete against their own average to earn points. Week #1 & #2 are average setting rounds and players will be awarded 5 points each just for playing. In the following 8 weeks players will be awarded 5 points for playing on league day (if they did in fact, play on league day) 2 points for each player did less well against their average and 1 point for each player who did equaly well against their average. For example, if my average is 78 and I shoot an 80 and your average is 67 and you shoot a 70 - I receive 2 points because I did only 2 worse than my average and you did 3 worse. Player with the lowest score will earn 2 extra points for their achievement. Win weekly CTP's and end of season payouts.
$10 entry fee covers first two rounds. Players are required to pay prior to playing their league round, so during the second week, players should pay for the following week's round. Players are encouraged to advance pay for as many future rounds as possible.
Of the $5/round fee, $1 goes to an ace pool, $1 goes to a CTP prize, $1 goes toward a cement fund for the new hole 17 and and $2 goes to the points race.
Note: If a player opts to play on a day other than league day, they will still be charged $5 - this is because it is harder to verify the round and also considerably more work for those running the league to compile points, collect scores and collect fees. Additionally, despite contributing to the CTP and Acepool, players who play on days other than league day are NOT eligible for those awards, even if they are accompanied by another league player. Basically, it's best to play on the designated league day. In order to make league day as accessible as possible for all, league day will be on Saturdays. I, Foster Neill, will be at the park from 1 to 1:30 on league day to collect fees and scores.
A note about official rules: This league uses official PDGA rules. Any player caught knowingly breaking the rules will get one warning. If caught a second time, that player will be kicked out of the league without refund and will forfeit their points "earned." Some important rules to follow: do NOT break, bend or in any way diminish anything living any where on the course. ever. no matter what. Do not remove or in anyway alter and dead or unalive things in the fairway. Do not move or bend anything in front of your disc for an easier shot. Do not step in front of your disc inside 30' from the basket. You must maintain your balance behind you disc before you can cross the line of the disc. Do not eyeball distances of ctp's if close. Instead, step out the distances HEEL to TOE or use a stick to ensure consistent measuring. Once you've thrown your shot, you cannot reshoot. You cannot call a practice shot and use that shot for your drive. You must tee off with at least one foot on the cement tee pad. You must put your disc in the basket on every hole to complete the hole, even if you think it's an easy "in."
