I don't know if any of you will still get notifications from this league, but I wanted to let you all know that I am closing the books on the 2011 league ace fund. We voted to spend the left-over 201 ... show more ›

Mark Kewley I'm looking forward to doubles!
Mar 8, 2012
Rick Petrie Glad you asked that question Kevin (Clouse). I was getting curious myself.

For those of you out there reading this, Kevin (RevKev) Clark has announced that the Tuttle Tuesday doubles league starts up again on March, 13th. 5:30 sharp.

Kevin Clouse Does doubles start next week or when Rev Kev? Mar 7, 2012
Rick Petrie
The earliest Tuttle work day I will be a part of will be Saturday, November 19th. Here's why: 1. I still haven't heard from Rev Kev regarding how he thinks the unclaimed Ace Fund $ should be spent ... show more ›

Rick Petrie Mark may have located a generator that can handle 220... not just 110... Nov 4, 2011
Robert Adams Rick, Just checked it out, didn't mention anything about amperage, but at idle I can run up to 400W. Nov 4, 2011
Rick Petrie Rob, does your truck have any info about the amperage it can handle? The reason I ask is that my welder trips the breaker at home every once and a while...

If anyone has a generator that's meant for power tools that would be ideal...
Nov 4, 2011
Rick Petrie Robert,
That's excellent! Being that mobile will make it go faster, we'll need fewer people, and ask less of the Park staff / Corps. of Engineers.

If we've got our own power source do we even need to tell Parks staff much other than we're going to be "working on repairing baskets"?
Nov 4, 2011
Robert Adams Just to put it out there, I've got a 110V power outlet built into the bed of my truck, so we could tote the welder around to all the baskets if it would make it any easier. Nov 3, 2011
Kevin Zane
RIck, I'd be glad to volunteer myself to help out with whatever it takes to get the ball rolling on basket improvements. Let's try to figure out a day, and I'll try my absolute best to get away from w ... show more ›

Oh, I forgot to also mention the following: 1. I can bring some metal bar stock to cut to size and weld on where the baskets need fixin'. Ya know, like where there's a few broken bars and/or "baling ... show more ›

To expand on what Mark said... Yes, I have a very portable Miller brand wire feed welder that uses a standard household 110 volt power source, OR a properly powered gas generator. An hour of touch ... show more ›

I like the idea of taking some practice baskets out to test some alt pins. I laready have a couple of ideas. If the chains get replaced on hole #3, I would offer 25 cents / foot for the old heavy ch ... show more ›

I personally think that it would be great to get some new chains on 3, but if it really kills our budget maybe we should either put on hold for the sake of more entertaining placements or give a trial ... show more ›

I'll have to double count the money, but I believe the ace fund is at $252 at the end of the season. We'll hold back at least $25 to start next year off. Anything we don't spend on course improvement ... show more ›

Well, that's all folks! Tonight was a fitting end to the season, with Zane and Kewley shooting a bogie-free 47 to win it. From there the scores were 48, 49, 50, and 51. No ties, thankfully, 'cause ... show more ›

Kevin RevKev Clark In the meantime, be thinking of improvements at the Tuttle course that we can spend our Ace Fund on if no one hit's it next week. Feel free to share them here... Oct 26, 2011
Kevin RevKev Clark MY BAD... I told everyone that tonight was the last night of league... HOWEVER... there is one more Tuesday night before daylight savings time ends. So... let's go one last time next Tuesday night and see if someone can take home the Ace Fund. Oct 26, 2011

Kevin Clouse How about a player party as well??? I know there will be some votes for that! Oct 19, 2011
Kevin Clouse Maybe not replace the whole basket on 3 because it is a good basket....just terrible chains. I think the basket that needs most attention would be #6 or #14. Oct 19, 2011
Rick Petrie What I was trying to convey is that we could more easily pour a few new pads + change pin placements, thus play one or more of those holes (#4 pin, #5, #6, #7, #17) from different angles to better straddle the bridge.

Just a thought.

I've always thought that bridge should be located further south, so generally speaking moving it is a good idea. However, I'm pretty sure it has concrete bridge abutments holding it in place. If th ... show more ›

Kevin RevKev Clark Someone mentioned last night that maybe we could negotiate with the State Park folks to move the bridge further east in between holes 6 and 17. With an extra $250 from our league, maybe they would go for it. What do you all think? Oct 19, 2011
Kevin RevKev Clark All votes so far have been to invest any leftover ace fund money in course improvements. If anyone has a problem with that, come out next week and hit an Ace! Oct 19, 2011

Jon Tveite I would favor putting the money back into the course. If nobody aces, the course wins, right? My first choice for improvements would be reducing the embarrassment factor on some of those baskets. They have been through a lot and could use some love. Oct 13, 2011

Jon Tveite Clearly Mark must be stopped! Oct 14, 2011
Jon Tveite Yeah, I thought the 6/17 pad switch worked nicely. That's thinking out of the box, as the necktie set is wont to say.

With #5 over the creek, and #2 and #7 in their long positions as well, the course must be playing close to maximum distance. And I can hardly get off the tee....

Mark Kewley "Hope everyone enjoyed switching 17 and 6 T-Pads."

Yes! We should do it next week.

Kevin RevKev Clark Hope everyone enjoyed switching 17 and 6 T-Pads.

Next Week, plan on starting at 5:20. We need discs in the air at 5:30 or we won't finish by dark.

Kevin RevKev Clark Nice Shooting everyone! League starts next week at 5:30 SHARP! Don't forget to look for the #14 right basket placement. If you find it, move the red flag to the correct spot and send me a message. Thanks! Sep 21, 2011
