That's right - tonight is the last night of the SPRING leagues at Valley View. Perfectly timed because I'm thinking we are going to have 10 perfect nights of summer weather and we'll even get a taste of that at tonight's league.

Everything you've ever loved about league will be happening tonight. We'll do some CTPs for everyone, we'll have you play against your closest competition, you'll earn double points, and then we'll head to BW3's where we will give away a basket. So if you've bought those mulligans, you'll get one ticket for each week you bought a mully!

Next Wednesday, June 8th, we'll start right into the summer season! I HOPE to have our trophies for you by the start of the next session. We have some very tight races that will be decided TONIGHT! I'll be out there before 5 so you can do your shopping or whatever you need to do!

Tonight is ALREADY week 8 of spring league, which means its the second two disc night this season. The weather forecast looks like it will be dry by the time we tee off, so I hope to see all of you out there tonight!

I'll be getting us started tonight, since Terry has other obligations. I should be set up by 5:00 to collect registration. I have all CTP and funny money awards from last week, and I'll have plenty of discs on hand, in case you want to use two brand new discs on two disc night!

Sorry for the delay here but no matter what - we are on for tonight. I'm excited to get out there and hand out some funny money, cash, and extra action. I'm not just saying that because I sustained a head injury just a week ago - we're really going to have a good time tonight rain or shine.

I'm going to be at the park hopefully by 4pm (or shortly there after) and let's keep our fingers crossed that I chase away the rain on my way down there!

The forecast is high 80's along with some humidity. Wait - that's for me here at the International Disc Golf Center in Appling, Georgia. I normally would prefer 45 degrees vs 90 degrees but seeing how Valley View is upping the ante with rain and possible snow so with that ... I'll hang out here for a few more days.

What really matters though is that tonight is DOUBLE POINTS NIGHT. That's right, 2 points for the price of 1. Mike Harrington will be in charge of running the show so please make things easy on him. Get there early and get your game face on. Again, DOUBLE POINTS night is happening and as much as it pains me not to be there - I hope everyone shoots lights out! Don't get struck by lightning though!

Sure - the weather is less than perfect today but that won't stop us die hard league players. In fact, we've found that turn out can be just the opposite of what people would assume. Constantly you hear people say, "Well, I thought I'd come out even if a bunch of others don't because I want to try and get as many points as possible." Next thing you know, a bunch of people think just that and we have a bigger than normal turn out!

Action continues to heat up and just as promised, we saw a bunch of people show up to 2 disc night and shoot (much) better than their regular scores. Brian Ish in Open had previously shot a -3 and -5 and then showed up with just 2 discs and shot a -14! Nate Claassen in Open only needed 2 discs to shoot a -16! Bos in Semi Pro more than doubled his score from -5 in week 1 to -11 with just 2 discs! Maybe we should force 2 disc night on you more often huh?

40 degrees with some wind tonight should make for a brisk but fun round. Look for a few additional prizes to be handed out along with week 3's winnings! Excited to see everyone and remember - next week is the ever so critical - DOUBLE POINTS WEEK!

In West Philadelphia, born and raised ... ok, so I can't get that song out of my head with my recent trip out to the East Coast. It is truly amazing to visit the 2nd oldest course in the country and host back to back events at Sedgley Woods and then Tyler State Park. If you ever have a chance to get out to either course - please do so.

Due to my travels, it took me extra long to get the details to our awesome web-stats guy, Dustin. He just got the info and like a miracle man, he'll turn that data into web-viewing info very shortly. I can also promise that during many of the weeks ahead, stats will happen even faster than they did this past week.

As promised last week, tonight will be 2 disc night. That's right - you can only bring out onto the course just 2 discs. They can be any combo of 2 discs that you'd like but just those two and that's it. We will also have trash bags available and will be giving away special rewards to the groups that pick up the most trash. More details to come once you check in.

Speaking of checking in - I should be out there nice and early today so if you're looking to get some of the latest and greatest plastic I should have it all available. Be there no later than 5:45 to get paid and checked in. We have a BEAUTIFUL night in the forecast and I look forward to seeing you all there!

With less than perfect weather we still kicked off the 2011 League Season with a bang! Thank you to everyone that came out. We had a ton of new players start up this session and we hope to bring in even more. We'll continue to add daylight each week and things will run more and more efficiently as everyone gets in the swing of things.

About a dozen players headed over to BW3's immediately following the round last week and they again signed on as our 'after league' sponsor! That means that most weeks we'll have some BW3's gift certificates to give away which might come as random prizes or they might be for CTPs or other things! Stay tuned.

Let's hope this fresh snow starts to melt quickly and soon enough we'll all be playing one of Milwaukee's most fun courses! Looking forward to seeing everyone on March 30th!
