This course is a piece of heaven that fell into a middle-of-nowhere backwoods town in central Iowa. It's isolated, calm, and peaceful, and is easily the best course I've ever played. Hole 14 has to be the single most well designed hole I've ever seen anywhere. Great place to bring a dog too.

Awesome course, yet it is one I dread playing in a tournament. Beautiful yet costly if you miscue!!!

Pros-great long course set on some rolling hills. Lots of elevation and good use of the trees. 2 tee pads at nearly all holes with 3 on the 958' beast. Well maintained clear signage. LONG journey around beautiful property
Cons-holes 1-3 layout doesn't really fit course, long walk between some holes, some of shorts seem too easy like being placed for sake of another pad.
Great course overall, fun yet challenging.

My favorite Des Moines course. It has everything from big bombers to short and technical. Great use of water, trees, and long grass to create a championship level course!

Pickard is the ideal in park golf. Great length, great variety in shot shape. My favorite course, and the course I grew to love disc golf on.

A gem here in Iowa. The course is easy to find right off the main road heading into/out of town. PLENTY of parking and camping area (if you're into that). Beautiful course with a great mix of technical shots with max distance off the tees. Risk/Reward really comes into play with the amount of distance you want to go for, but not staying in the fairways could be costly.

Pickard Park is a special place. The majority of the course feels isolated, which is a welcome change from the rest of the park-style courses the Des Moines metro courses offer. There is beauty everywhere you look from the native grasses, wildflowers, mature trees, and creek that flows through a few holes on the course. Short and long tee pads offer a challenge to every level of player, and the course is capable of holding large, championship style events. I highly recommend this course t ...

Pickard is definitely a destination course to play that showcases the best of what Iowa disc golf can offer! Well manicured and is also fun for beginners! There are a wide variety of shots that can make you use all the tools in your bag. Pack some snacks! Once you’re off on your adventure, you won’t swing back by the parking lot until you’re done.

Oh and if you’re in the area the right time of year, you will see hot air balloons decorating the sky!

Pickard is my favorite DSM area course! Challenging par 3s and par 4s and a great blend of open, wooded and water shots, along with elevation. The course sits on a beautiful piece of land and it is the perfect course to showcase what Iowa disc golf has to offer.

Love Pickard! Excellent variation with undulations, water, woods, open, length you name it! Pickard can score well when you're on your game and really put you in a bind when you're not and that's the beauty of it! Go check it out! #1 in Iowa indeed.

This course is my favorite course because it has a little bit of something for everyone. It has open areas to challenge you in the wind, bombing shots with elevation changes, while also presenting highly technical wooded and water holes.
