Course Review (From the Owner/Designer)
Pros:
Designed intentionally by the owner (me) with three tee layouts for all skill levels
Fully signed with reflective navigation markers and natural connecting trails between holes
Dedicated disc golf only — no park cross-traffic or safety conflicts
Scenic wooded terrain with shade, wind protection, and elevation variety
Risk/reward design with water hazards, tight gaps, and fair scoring routes
Professional Innova Discatcher Pro 28 baskets throughout
Benches, picnic tables, trash can, and clean outhouse
Peaceful low-traffic play — no crowds or backups
Future campsite rentals (launching 2026)
Cons:
Tee pads are currently natural (but level)
A few fairways are still breaking in/may feel tight to some players
Spring ticks and autumn olive rough can be pesky off the fairway
Other Thoughts:
As the owner and designer of Tomahawk Disc Golf Course, I've spent the past five years transforming this land into an 18-hole disc golf destination. What started with hand tools and volunteer help has grown into a well-defined layout built with machinery, careful planning, and a lot of passion.
My goal from the beginning was to design a course that's fun for newer players, rewarding for casuals, and strategically challenging for advanced players. Each hole includes three tee options (Junior, Short, and Long) so that players can choose between ace runs, controlled scoring, or high-risk decision-making.
This is not a mixed-use park. It's a dedicated disc golf course, meaning no joggers, bikers, or random foot traffic crossing fairways. The course runs through mature forest featuring white pine, maple, oak, and beech, with old deer hunting lanes and portions of a nature trail originally built by my dad, a lifelong trout fisherman.
You'll find elevation changes, water hazards, balanced lefty and righty lines, and wooded fairways that reward accuracy and control. I've now completed navigation signage throughout the entire course. All holes are clearly signed with reflective directional markers, and natural-material trails guide you from one hole's basket to the next tee.
This is a passion project first, business second. Every dollar from course play goes directly back into improvements such as cleaning fairways, trimming hazards, adding benches, signage, and refining playability. Tee pads are currently natural but level.
Long-term, I plan to offer leagues, tournaments, and season-long memberships. Beginning in 2026, I'll be offering on-site campsite rentals for players who want to turn their visit into a full disc golf getaway.
If you appreciate a course with soul, serenity, and steady evolution, Tomahawk is worth the trip, and it's only getting better with time.
