News about the new course across the river...
We were approved for a Michigan Economic Development Corporation matching grant of $36k!!! We are in the middle of our fundraising campaign now, and have to raise $36k by May 30 to get the match. So, please pass this along to anyone you know who may be interested in donating or becoming a sponsor on the course. Anything you can give right now is worth double when we reach our goal and get the matching MEDC grant!!!

NOTICE: I was approached by the Powder Mill property owner due to last weekend's event. For future events, all organizers MUST provide their own insurance including Named Insured Certificates for the property owners. UPDGA is responsible for the Powder Mill, Silver Creek, and Al Quaal courses, and has entered into Land Use Agreement easements with the property owners to provide, construct, and maintain them. The Association maintains insurance policies covering all property owners, as well as the equipment the Association owns and operates. Since UPDGA owns the course equipment and is responsible for replacement and upkeep due to wear and tear, the Land Use Agreements allow fees to be collected for other use of the course. For 2023 and on, any other entity looking to reserve the courses for an event will be required to provide certificates of insurance and pay a reservation fee ($250 per day, $150 per half day, $50 per league night).

Navigation - take a picture of the course map with you for your first round, it's posted on the welcome board. Most greens have a sign pointing to the next tee (as long as someone hadn't vandalized it), and each tee sign likely shows the location of the next and adjacent holes. Look around and follow the obvious paths off the green. If you see a 4x4 post with a huge 12x18 sign, it's a tee sign.
10-11 is a long walk down to the river
11-12 blue requires walking down along part of 12s fairway
12-13 is a long walk up the gravel parking lot road back toward where you came from on 10
13-14 is along the bike path on the road (14 blue is back by the soccer field - no, this is not backward, the hole should NOT play toward the soccer field, unless you prefer the course to get pulled when discs fly into kids playing soccer)
