I've played this course dozens of times over the past couple years because it is so close. Recently they have cleaned the course up a bit making some of the holes more playable.

On the downside, there is only one tee per hole. I enjoy the back nine because there are some more challenging, more technical holes for someone of my admittedly average skill level. Strong players will easily crush par here.

The front nine tends to be much more wide open and doesn't present the same level of challenge.

Overall, though, it is a nice course that is novice-friendly.

This course would be great for players new to the game. The front nine is composed of fairly open, shorter holes; this is fantastic for beginners. The back becomes more technical with some more wooded holes and finishing with a long (Par 4?) to wrap things up. With only two par fours on an otherwise par 3 course it does feel a little bit short. Only having one tee placement and basket placement for each hole also reduces variety at this course.

Overall this course felt pretty vanilla to me, and with about an hour's drive to play it I probably would only head out for an occasional tournament.

The only thing I dont like about the course is the very poor drainage it has. It seems to always be wet no matter what time of year you play. Great use of the land.

UPDATE - sounds like with the current park admin disc golf is seen as more a nuisance. Shame the team wasn't allowed to put in the 3rd 9 in. The original front 9 is now too mixed with the newer walking path, reminiscent of the old back 9 pre-update. Sadly I now prefer other courses in the area with less non-DG traffic.

There is good flow to the course and tee boxes are very nice oversized cement pads. Definitely one of the nicer courses I have been to. Will surely take the drive to play this course again.

The baskets are a little old and it can be a little tricky to navigate your first time out, but this is a fun course to play. I would go more often, but it's a little drive for me. :)

nice technical front nine, with a mix of technical and distance on the back 9. i really like the new back 9 holes, as the woods to the left of the old #12 have been brought into play for holes 12 - 16. the course has a great flow and the park is just beautiful. a decent amount of players are out there every time i make the trip, too. definitely a course worth checking out if you are out that way.

This course has been around for quite some time now, and was always just kinda there to regular disc golfers. However, years of tree plantings and tree growth, coupled with a 2010-11 redesign of several holes (mostly back nine) by the Summit DG club have made this a much improved course. With the future installation of new, reasonably-sized concrete tees, coupled with some additional refinements and new hole cleanups, this will be a course that ascends to the A- class.

The front nine is pretty close to the original, and is suitable for players of all skill levels, though ace runs abound for experienced players (everything but 8 is conceivable). There is one very long hole on the front, and a short ninth hole that is very close to the first hole in typical play has a mandatory dogleg to increase the challenge and hole segregation. It has good use of trees and elevation changes.

The back nine, previously almost entirely straight and open, has evolved considerably. If you played it in 2008 or earlier, you've got the wrong impression, as it now has considerably redesigned 12 thru 18 (with 19 being the old, original 18). They are now abounding in distance and wind thru the woods, with elevation changes, tight fairways, doglegs in varying directions, and considerable promise as it continues to improve. The average-skilled player will only likely find 10, maybe 11, 14, 16, and 19 to have any chance at all to ace, and most of those are tougher shots at it compared to all the opportunities on the front. Warning, though: while I played it at the end of March, I'm guessing the back is a haven for mosquitoes, with the lake, a bog, a creek, and woods in general providing a healthy breeding grounds. So, pack your repellent.

What used to be a time-killer on a DG trip thru the neighborhood is worth making a point to stop and play. While other courses in NE Ohio should still be ahead of this on your list (IMHO, including Massillon, Medina, Canton, Wingfoot, & Ashtabula), it's a course I'd always loved, and now can't wait to find opportunities to play a lot more.

I would rate the course an 'A' if they could just put in full size tee concrete tee pads on all 18 and fix the tee signs to reflect the changes made to the course.

Hole signs - you redid the back 9 but couldn't invest in some 8.5x11 notebook paper to put the distance or par on the signs?
Baskets - these have been the same baskets since the Reagan administration. This is Hudson for God's sake. This should be one of the nicest parks in NE Ohio.
Poor markings - always have to walk to find the basket before teeing off

Overall, I'd rather drive farther to play a tougher course than this horrendous course. The only reason I didn't give it an F is because it could be a nice course if they just improved the tees and signs. I'd deal with the bad baskets if you could tee off without pulling a hamstring from sliding in the wet grass/mud due to everyone avoiding the horrible 2 inch tee pads.

Alright! I'm starting to like this course a lot more. Got a chance to play on the new tees. This is looking like a really good course now. The re-vamped back 9 really gives this course some character. Only holes 3-8 had new tees, but the forms were in for the rest of the holes. Nice job! I don't even really care that the baskets are old. I can deal with that. Solid footing on the drive is more important. We're pretty spoiled in NE Ohio as far as disc golf courses go!

Conditions were poor for the Hudson Master's tourney.Sloppy due to rain.Played from many alternate natural grass tee pads. Rain in first round and wind in second made Hudson play 4-6 strokes harder per rd. Parts of course were under water due to recent flooding,making it hard to get around/keep dry.
The course itself is a least a "B+" normally,but the conditions on May 15th,2011, made it play like a "B-"

Pros
- Plenty of parking. There’s the reservoir and canoeing and a playground for the kids.
- Nice disc golf sign directing you to the front and back nine
- Bathrooms by the parking area
- The map is very helpful
- Excellent practice basket located near Hole #1’s Tee right by the parking lot. The basket also has distance markers.
- The Tee Signs on Holes 1-10 are helpful but could use some updating and repair. Tee Signs are still being updated on Holes 11-18 due to all the wonderful changes that have been done on this course lately.
- The course has a decent flow. It is more of two nine hole circles forming a figure-eight with a parking lot at the center. But Hole #18 does end near Hole #1 at the parking lot which is nice.
- Holes #1-11, 17 & 18 are mostly in the open but they still have a decent array of shots required to get around or over some of the obstacles. Holes #12-16 are located in the woods and will require more than a few technical shots.
- The scenery and landscape is very pleasing and the reservoir makes for a fantastic walk with the family. The holes in the woods are done very well, especially on Hole #15 which has a lot of decorative wooden posts along the path and a very nicely done bench.
- The distance on this course is longer than average which is nice. There are a few short holes and lots of ace opportunity on them but there are also some very long holes. The long and open holes provide you the chance to really rip some drives. The elevation adds to this with some long sweeping hills and bends. A few holes have narrow pathways through rows of trees that will test your accuracy.
- There are trashcans and the park is clean
- No vandalism
- General upkeep of the park is very nice.

Cons
- Hole #9’s basket is near to #1’s Tee which is next to the parking lot. Be extra careful! This park is usually very crowded with disc golfers and a lot of park visitors so there are always cars near where you need to throw for this hole.
- There are still a few very tiny concrete Tees left but since they are close to the ground you can at least start your run-up on the grass. The other Tees are either natural or gravel and are in semi decent shape but seem to collect water and are a bit uneven. Sometimes I just prefer to throw next to the Tee’s if they are in rough shape.

Other Thoughts
- Old course and it does show. Established in 1986. Many of the baskets are old and rusty, but still workable and they are labeled
- One suggestion would be to have at least one more bench added to the front & back nine
- The front nine feel somewhat tight and confined until you get to Hole #8 and can really rip it. The back nine really opens up so you can stretch your arm a bit.
- This would be a decent course for beginners, however, a beginner may have a very hard time with a few of the holes in the woods. I cannot say that this course was challenging overall but I will say that the course had some challenging holes. A recreational player could easily score in the high 50’s - low 60’s here.
- The most challenging hole for me is #13. It is an easy hole to score a 4 on just by playing it very safe, but who wants to do that. There is a sharp turn to the right about 80-100’ from the tee and it’s a small opening to hit. Fall short like me and you are in some thick rough (this may get cleared out more but it’s thick as of 08/31/11). This hole also has some overhand opportunity straight to the basket but that is above my pay grade at the moment. This is your Risk vs. Reward hole.
- My favorite hole is without a doubt Hole #15. A lot of work went into the decorations on this hole and it is beautiful. Nice wooden posts along the path and there’s a fancy bench and Tee. This hole is a very long tunnel shot that turns to the left far down the path. You’ve got thick rough to the right and semi thick woods to the left. Fantastic hole that I really looked forward to the second round we played.
- Lately there have been vast changes to the park especially with the new holes in the woods and they are Beautiful! Huge thanks to all those that have put so many hours into making this course even better. I realize that the work is still continuing and that you have more planned to make this place ever more ‘Gooder’!
- Bring the kids, play on the playground, have a picnic and make a day of it. I would not label this as a destination course (yet) to travel a long distance to play but I will say that anyone that lives nearby really needs to get to this course. Had a lot of fun and I look forward to going back.
