This was my first time playing Lake Shore. Overall, it was a fun course and I enjoyed my time there. The only complaint I have is the lack of signage that helps navigating the course. Some better signage would be awesome. I love the elevation change, how some of the tees are pretty tight, and variety of holes. Grass was very maintained, but had a lot of goose poop. Being near a lake and having multiple ponds I guess this is expected. Will definitely be back to play again

This is the first course that I have ever played and it is and always will be one of my favorites. The elevation changes really allow you to air out your shots and the hills can cause some nasty roll aways. A great mix of open and technical shots. There is absolutely no thick brush so there is no wasted time looking for discs and no chance of getting poison ivy. The course is almost always windy which adds another challenge to the course. The concrete tee pads are still in great shape. It is a park so it can get busy with parties on the weekends but nothing that makes the course unplayable. It would be great if there was more events and leagues at this awesome course.

My favorite course to play for it is so manicured it is much like a ball golf course but still with great terrain changes, some wooded holes, and elevation changes with tilted fairways that make you think your shot out rather than just throw. The course overlooks Lake Erie and has beautiful views. Many baskets are placed on hillsides where putting is a premium for roll away disc are a distinct possibility. I have played in 42 different states, Canada, & Japan and this course is one of my top 5 and the only one within driving distance.Let me think to play this course you need great shot placement, great putting, elevation changes, manicured course, and Lake Erie views so what is not to like. If your game is big throw backhand only and do not have technical rollers, forehands, or good putting skills etc.. it may not be your favorite course for the course requires all aspects of the game to play this course. The course has no under brush so you can play in shorts and finish the round without cuts and abrasions. Any negative reviews on this course makes no sense for I travel 4 hours (8 hours round trip) each year from Michigan to play their 1 sanctioned event. In my opinion this is a destination course.

The course can get muddy, is covered with goose poop, and is very windy. I usually throw light plastic and that was impossible out there. Still, this course is definitely worth a trip. Great views of Lake Erie!

Absolutely beautiful setting year round. On a calm day it can play fairly easy but on a windy day it has awesome teeth!

On more than one occasion had to ask someone to put my disc down and yes it is mine you didn't just find a treasure. other than that great course awesome elevations and choices for layout. Lost a pro tie dye starfire on 12 by the duck pond still not sure how I faded it that hard maybe I slipped on a goose turd off the tee box. Anyway cool course. Also the course has the par's marked differently than what is on here when you post a score, does anyone know which is correct?

These tee pads can not be marked properly, because there is no way that 325 feet constitutes a par 5 and this was on many holes. Very Very hilly, my ankles and toes and knees are already sore. The park is alright, but he course needs to be fixed for the par situation.

Three sets of tees all concrete are nice and long/short baskets are also cool. I would recomend playing the blue tees if you only play once through. I came from Akron and it was a pretty long ride. I don't know if I'll make it back but I'm glad I got to play it. It has great views of Lake Erie.

As president of the Shoot the Breeze Disc Golf Club, I will try to be quite honest with my review.

I started playing disc golf here around 2005, and have probably played 98% of my rounds here.

The layout and design of the course was well thought out about 14 years ago. There is no question that the layout takes advantage of much of the park as is possible, and the mix of tee pads makes it conducive for beginning players, intermediate players, and advanced players. The fact that it lies on the shores of Lake Erie makes it beautiful, no matter the time of year. And the wind - if you're lucky enough to catch a calm day, you need to take advantage! Truly an amazing course to learn playing in wind - and if you don't like the direction it's coming from, wait a few minutes - it WILL change!

This 18 hole course has developed nicely over the years, funded entirely by the efforts of the Shoot the Breeze Disc Golf Club. The 18 hole course has "long" baskets on four holes - 3, 5, 13, and 17 - and the park has 47 different concrete tee pads throughout the course. Each year, they are adding more benches near the teepads.

Amenities are nice - during the warmer season, there are three "well kept" bathrooms at different points of the course (near # 1 tee, # 3 baskets, and # 11 basket). The concession stand makes some great concession stand food (takes a few minutes to prepare, but worth the wait!), and they also offer D plastic discs for the beginners. And they usually have scorecards on hand, as well.

Navigation can be just a touch confusing, so it helps to have a map - but if you don't, just remember these tips: After hole 2, walk down the steps and across the flats and over the park road to get to # 3 tee; after #4, again, walk south down the hill and cross the road again; After 5, and after 6, double back toward the main road, as the tees are near the road. # 8 blue teepad throws over the smaller of the two ponds in the park, while the white / red pad are on the far side of the pond.

The views at Lake Shore Park are simply spectacular. The park commission does an awesome job with keeping it looking beautiful, and they are very receptive to input from the club. It's a really nice working relationship, and they are very helpful in maintaining the course.

Just a note: If you disc goes over the fence into the water, consider it long-gone. It is illegal for you to go into the ponds - and the county sheriff does patrol the park. However, if your disc goes over the fence, but NOT into the water, look for a park employee and ask them if they could get the disc for you. I've never seen them refuse...

There are several holes where (in my opinion) a roller comes in quite handy - especially on 3, 5 (white & blue), and 18...

Goose poop is prevalent, but the park is striving to reduce the population through humanitarian means...

The course is more conducive to right-handers than left-handers. But then, there are more righties than lefties...

Each year, the Shoot the Breeze Disc Golf Club hosts three primary events: We hold our "Ice Bowl" the Saturday after the Super Bowl; our efforts create donations for Ashtabula Community Action Meals for Seniors, and canned goods for Catholic Charities of Ashtabula County; Our PDGA event, the Shoot the Breeze Open, held the first weekend of June; and the Sticky Fingers event, held in conjunction with the Lake Shore Park Rib Burn-Off, usually the third weekend in September. This event is also a charitable fund raiser for local organizations. It's a lot of fun, and usually at least one of the events of the day is some kind of "non-traditional" disc golf shenanigans. And what makes it really great is that the rib & food vendors will usually donate some tasty delights for our participants. Check us out in the fall!

This course is just plain fun!!! Lots of elavation changes make for big drives, moderatly open, good signage, good tee pads, good for multiple skill levels, this is one of my favorites I've played. It is in a great location with a beach, good wildlife, nearby food and bars. My only complaints would be the pars are a little easy ( I shot a -11 my first time here on whites), and a few more hole could have been added with a better course design. But all in all this is one of ohios best!

Flush concrete tees add to the aesthetics. Multiple tees are nice; but sometimes the differentiation is inadequate. One hole has a nasty OB over a fence. Biggest problem is goose poop everywhere. Gorgeous views, multiple tees, birdy opportunities, tehnical shots, big shots, hazzard shots, elevation changes, ice cream stand, this course has it all. Didn't get an A due to the many pedestrians and pavillions close to tees or baskets.

The wind was a major factor, but its on the lake and the view is awesome. And yes, there is lots of goose poop...so what? This course is worth it. The holes were fairly open and many straight shots, but the bird cages were fun to throw past and the elevation created some interesting shots. I will stop here again!! its only 8 minutes off I-90...nice job by the Shoot The Breeze DGC!!

this is along with punderson is my favorite course in northeastern ohio. great layout and use of the land, including phenomenal elevation changes and technical pin placement. this course has it all. three sets of tees, nice sturdy baskets, and even a few holes with water hazards. and there's some decent open areas for distance drives, even from the white tees, helping to make it a very enjoyable course. the blue tees are killer, with a good mix of distance and technical combined on the majority of holes. the course is also in an awesome park with full amenities, including a snack bar and a small beach. definitely a destination course if you are ever in the area.

The course is fun if you like short holes. Even if you play the long tees, most of the holes are still fairly short compared to many courses I have played. Scenery is nice, but this is where I feel the course is lacking... Since its at a park near Lake Erie there is a lot of traffic around the course, and there is little to no privacy anywhere on the course. Also, being close to Lake Erie has another large draw back and that is Geese. There is a lot of poop on the tee's, fairways, and basically everywhere else in the park. There are several tee boxes close to the main road so you hear a lot of cars passing by as well, not exactly the most relaxing sound to hear in my opinion.

Tee's are nice, and I commend them on providing 3 sets of tee's on the holes. Most tee boxes have tree's located infront of them making low trajectory drives a must to clear tree's.

Pro's: It is on my way home from college.

Con's: Lots of traffic, road noise, people walking close to fairways, geese poop, etc...

Pros
- Multiple parking lots and pavilions
- Playground for the kids and a concession stand with ice cream
- Beach for swimming and fishing
- Three sets of bathrooms!
- The map is very accurate
- Premium multiple concrete tees with a label/sign embedded in the tee itself. Most holes have three tees and some holes have two permanent basket locations.
- Accurate tee signs. Note that there is one per hole located at the original single tee position which could now be any of the three positions.
- Baskets are in excellent condition.
- Many challenging basket placements on steep hills and mounds which make you have to decide to play it safe or risk 3-putting.
- Good flow. Hole #18 ends at Hole #1 which is near the parking area/bathroom and pavilion.
- Fantastic mix of shots required. Right when you think you have this course figured out, all you have to do is switch to another tee/basket position and your entire game is changed! After three rounds mixing tee and basket position I had literally thrown every type of throw that I know the name for.
- The distances of the shots has something for everyone. Plenty of ace runs and a lot of looooong bomb shots with obstacles to get around.
- Gorgeous scenery with a very intense rolling landscape on a well manicured park and an awesome view of Lake Erie. Once here, many will say that this is the most picturesque park they’ve been too.
- First class upkeep
- Water obstacle for two different holes
- No vandalism
- Benches located around the course

Cons
- Busy, Busy, Busy. Very popular park for non disc golfers and disc golfers alike. You will always have to have a sharp eye out for walkers on the sidewalks and families walking outward on the grass from the many pavilions placed throughout the course.
- Even though this course is quite large, it can get very cramped. Over half of the Holes have a chance of throwing into another Hole’s space. I was in a tournament there and you will constantly here, “FORE!”. Just play smart when there are a lot of other groups out there. Having said that, it was a very intelligent use of the land provided for the course.
- Mosquitoes! I’ve never been eating alive like this before.

Other Thoughts
- Depending on what Tee/Basket combination you are hitting that day, this can be a VERY challenging course or a course that seems simpler to you. Because there are so many combinations it can be a little confusing so I highly suggest grabbing a scorecard/map from concession stand.
- This course is loaded with challenging holes, but for me the most challenging is #3. There are quite a few routes to take here and every one has a large window of opportunity to hit a tree. Not only is there a wall of trees to get through, but rolling hills and a mando on the left!
- My favorite hole is #13 from the Blue Tee (Long). The fenced in bird area along with the peacock pen and rolling hills make this the most beautiful hole here. It’s long and runs up and alongside a hill with a water hazard to your right. Very difficult and intimidating but also beautiful and enjoyable.
- This is absolutely a destination course that I personally will make an attempt to travel to every year! Huge thanks to the very active club that keeps this course one of the top around.

Some of the blue boxes present more challenging tee offs with added obtacles which seemed appropriate. Great view of the lake and amenities available here. There isn't a single bench throughout the course though. Some holes have 2 baskets????? I did not understand the logic behind that and was questioning what distance i was shooting and which basket constituted par. Never seen that before. Pars are very forgiving here as well. I liked playing it overall and i will be back. Oh yeah they have a peacock!!
