A unique private course called Sunnyside since half the holes are open parkland holes. Unique since one green is in a corral like fencing. Another in a bunch of uniquely cut hedges. Some tee boxes with covered structures. The design is mostly fair with some tight technical holes. Hole 17 is only 133 feet long but no lines available. A forehand roller worked for me. The tee pads all had framed astroturf surfaces and were long enough even for me. Overall, a fun and challenging course, with 4 par 4s and some with ponds in play.

Enjoyable play on the Sunnyside course. Well-maintained, good signage, and carpeted tee pads. Good mix of tight wooded holes, and some open fairways. I got slightly turned around after a few holes, playing it for the first time, but always sorted it out in a matter of minutes. Lost a disc on a blind tee shot, and overthrew the pin into a swampy bog. Would like to return to play the Darkside and Tiki courses.

At one time this course may have been phenomenal, as it's rated #1 in the state, however living on reputation alone eventually dissipates, much like the upkeep on this course. Think of a Hilton that eventually got sold and is now a Travel Inn. The foundation is there, but the furniture is outdated, the pool is closed and they're letting folks rent as an extended stay. The aesthetics are distasteful as trash is littered throughout the entrance, the pool water is green and un-leashed dogs are running amuck and barking like they're ready to bite. There are lots of holes with seating at tees, but much of it is either rusty and mossy bench seats from the back of old Chevy Blazers or school buses, or some kind of theater seats that have been outside so long, that all the vinyl seats and cushioning are long gone so they only make a good seat for your disc bag. As for the course, it's challenging, especially when they use multiple pin placements but some of the tee signs only indicate placement and yardage for one. Hole #17 is only 133 feet long, and you can literally close your eyes on the tee and have just as good of a chance of getting near the basket as you would actually trying to navigate all the trees. Just about all the landscape timbers on every tee box are rotting away or have been consumed by termites. On holes with OB, sometimes it's an actual guessing game of the boundaries as poles/ropes are either partially there or maybe buried. There are also cardboard signs that might be tournament leftovers indicating for you to head in an incorrect direction of the next hole. I just played the #3 course in the state, Greenfield, last month, and this course can't compare. Loriella Park and Cannon Ridge which are nearby, easily outshine these two courses in terms of aesthetics, pace of play, maintenance and are almost as much a test of your skills. Plus they're free.

For this to be rated the number one course in the country i was very disappointed in what i saw. The technicality of the course is good at best. The property is well maintained but to walk up to a few buildings that are falling apart, ripped up old bus seats as chairs, and driving into the parking area where there maybe used to be a campground was very displeasing. I almost regret that i made the trip out of my way to go and play here. The people i talked to were very pleasant, but people talking doesn't make a course great. Ob's were not marked, tee signs did not tell you what par was on each hole. Then if the hole has more than one location you have no idea where the hole is. My opinion, but to be rated the number one course you need to focus on the little things. I would rather play at the player's course in alum creek state park in Ohio or the new reservoir ridge course in Galion, Ohio. I recently played a course near Myrtle Beach, SC that i would say was better than this one. If this is your home course there is a reason you like it but overall i am not happy with what i saw as the number one rated course. Time to redo the ratings here on discgolfscene.com!!!!

I decided to finally make it out this course, being it is rated #7 in the nation. If this is number 7, people need to look at what a course has to offer to be that great. Things I look at is course flow, course sign, tee signs, ease of navigation, maintenance, tee boxes, baskets, OB markings, ease of access.

When I traveled out to the courses I found it to be very easy to find the place and the parking. There's a great area to hold events here along with everyday rec players doing their thing. Onto the course. (I'll make it short and sweet)

Green outdoor carpet tee pads. Could use concrete or rubber matting to be better.
Tee signs are great and easy to read.
Baskets are easy to find due to the large flags attached.
There is no course sign but once you find hole one, it flows pretty smoothly.
Maintenance was superb.
I had no problem with the baskets and they were taken care of. Also liked the large sign on top to help identify what hole you are on.
OB areas were marked with yellow nylon rope which is tied around stakes in the ground. Very easy to see and ingenious.
Variety of shots-- you basically have everything. #17, 133footer with small trees all in the way!

To make this a #7 in my eyes I would make concrete pads, have a course sign, place trash cans and maybe have a sign after each basket leading the way to the next hole.

Other than that, I highly recommend this private course to anyone in the area. It's one of two full size 18 hole courses on the premises.

Well maintained course with a bit of everything, water, hills, woods, fields, a basket in a corral and tons of things along the way to keep you laughing and guessing what will be around the corner. Think Flip City without the rock formations. Great guys, great course central, disc shop onsite, band stand, out door kitchen, two great 18 hole courses, The Sunny Side and the Dark Side and then the Tiki. New paved patio leading to the Acoustic stage. The Tiki course is getting another upgrade with more holes having the fairways outlined by timbers with LED lights to light the way. Mike and the guys are really doing a AWESOME job of creating a Disc Golf Country Club - like only disc golfers could. A must play and experience disc golf destination!!!! Thanks Mike, Matt, Don, Preston for making my day so amazing - I hope to come back for a tournament with a after party.

This review is for Darkside at The Grange/Blockhouse. Again, I look for certain things in courses. The parking, ease of access, course map, tee signs, tee pads, baskets, variety of shots, OB markings, course flow, etc. I'll get to the review of this "#7" course in the nation. Before I do that, I want to state that I played the Sunnyside course immediately before this one. Sunnyside was better.

Finding the complex was easier than finding your car at the mall parking lot.
Parking was sufficient.
The amenities were pretty nice (arcade, disc golf store, lounge area, and seats at every hole. Seats were also at every hole on Sunnyside)
There was no course map but somewhat easy to navigate. Not as easy as Sunnyside.
The tee signs were just as great as the Sunnyside tee signs.
Tee pads were worse than Sunnyside. The were a dark gray pea gravel on all except one which was a blue outdoor carpet (shared tee pad with #8 on Tiki Course). Did slip a few times.
Baskets were the same and easily identifiable due to the large flag on top. Also like the large numbers on top which helped identify what hole I was on, just incase I forgot.
OB markings were yet again the stakes with yellow rope around them. Very nice.
The flow was nice and had, in my eyes, a more difficult variety of shots. Score also shows this!
Also, not much maintenance to do due to most being in the woods but some signs pointing to the next hole could be removed from the ground and nailed to a tree.


So, if I were to make improvements to make this a better course that would deserve to be #7, I would do this... Concrete tee pads, course sign, trash cans, signs pointing way to next hole

I still recommend this course.

The original Tiki - continuously improving Tiki - What can you say about a Par two course that you start to play from the side of the bar at the edge of course central with the music playing out over the course and you come face to face with the Tiki Gods taunting you on the very first hole - thread the two trees or you in the nets. Each basket is lite up with LED chain lights and one by one the holes are getting lines with timbers that have LEDs lighting the way. many of the holes have fence walls as partitions which would be nice if the course was full . Matt played this round with me and Preston and Don joined in for a great round. My putting and approach would be so much better if I could get a few more rounds on this course and it killed me that I did not get to play it in the dark all light up. Swinging baskets, motorized spinning baskets, baskets in a 1/2 dome cage, in a fence enclosure, trees and Tikis. A mando over the outdoors kitchen to a basket high up on a pole and your disc comes sliding down a net shoot into the lower basket. No wonder this is the original and the premiere Tiki par two course. You have not experience full service Disc Golf Country club until you have experienced the Grange - I mean (now) the Blockhouse Tiki course. Hats off to all who contributed to all the makes this course so unique and memorable.
