The 2015 Manhattan Trilogy Challenge is NEXT SATURDAY, Aug. 22nd, at Fairmont Park.
Players must Pre-Register to compete.

**UPDATE** MID-SOUTH COLLEGIATE OPEN - DAY 2
Yesterday was the final round of singles play on the Recreational Course. Players battled rainy conditions before crowning the individual champions and awarding the two berths to Nationals.
K-State finished in 5th place with a combined team score of 430. Here were the final team results:

Two rounds were played today, but a slight schedule change allowed us to play one singles round on the Rec course and the alternate shot doubles round on the Champ course. **UPDATE** MID-SOUTH COLLEGIATE OPEN - DAY 1
Two rounds were played today, but a slight schedule change allowed us to play one singles round on the Rec course and the alternate shot doubles round on the Champ course. After Round 1, K-State sat in 3rd place with a combined score of 170 from the top 3 singles scores, two strokes behind Southern Illinois University in 2nd.
The Championship course was a workout featuring long rolling fairways. We played along KU who finished round 1 two strokes behind us. However, KU rallied for a second round 61 which is -9 on the par 70 course. We finished with a 67 which brought us down to 5th place in the tournament. We are still only two strokes away from a share in a tie for 3rd. Stay tuned for tomorrow's results!

I hope I'm not speaking too soon, but there may be good news for the KSUDGC and other collegiate teams around the Midwest. I have been in contact with Dynamic Discs about hosting a qualifier event during the 2014-15 season. The latest response from them mentioned that Jeremy Rusco is making phone calls with other organizations in our region that have hosted a collegiate event and is making plans to host one next season. The only Singles rounds of the competition took place today on the Old Glory/Hogback courses. Players from each school were split between the two courses, so Jacob and Travis teed off on the Hogback course while AJ and David took on Old Glory. At the end of the day, the three lowest scores on each course would be submitted towards the team total. **UPDATE** NATIONAL COLLEGIATE DISC GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS - DAY 4
The only Singles rounds of the competition took place today on the Old Glory/Hogback courses. Players from each school were split between the two courses, so Jacob and Travis teed off on the Hogback course while AJ and David took on Old Glory. At the end of the day, the three lowest scores on each course would be submitted towards the team total. After round one, Jacob and Travis completed Hogback in 59 strokes each which is 1-under par while AJ finished Old Glory in 62 strokes (+1) and David put up 76 strokes (+15)
And then it rained.
The second rounds were rough playing with wet discs, soaked towels, and dripping clothes. AJ and David went over to Hogback while Jacob and Josh played Old Glory. AJ posted a 1-over 61 while David put in a 9-over 69. Jacob and Josh finished Old Glory in 71 and 70 strokes respectively (10-over and 9-over).
For the day, the Singles rounds gave us +19 bringing our tournament total to -10. We are currently sitting in 34th place going into the final Doubles round at Old Glory (Black). Wish us luck!

Today's two rounds of Doubles on Moody Woods and Headrick Hills allowed a bit more separation on the leaderboard. The day started earlier today teeing off at 9:30am on the Moody Woods course. Teammates for the first round were, again, Jacob and Travis (Odds) and AJ and David (Evens). Lots of tight, wooded lines on this course required precision and consistency off the tee. **UPDATE** NATIONAL COLLEGIATE DISC GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS - DAY 3
Today's two rounds of Doubles on Moody Woods and Headrick Hills allowed a bit more separation on the leaderboard. The day started earlier today teeing off at 9:30am on the Moody Woods course. Teammates for the first round were, again, Jacob and Travis (Odds) and AJ and David (Evens). Lots of tight, wooded lines on this course required precision and consistency off the tee. We were able to scrape enough birdies to take down Moody Woods (Par 64) in 58 strokes for 6-under par.
Strategy was discussed over lunch as we faced a second round on the wide-open Headrick Hills, featuring elevated baskets and some lined OB. Teammates for this round were Jacob and Travis (Odds) and AJ and Josh (Evens). Have to give credit to AJ Cruz for being a tremendous contributor to our Doubles scores, sinking a majority of our 30ft+ birdie attempts. We managed Headrick Hills (Par 61) in 53 strokes for 8-under par and another -14 total for the day.
Once scores were posted, we looked to see that we had sole possession of 28th place in the Championship field at -28 which is only 4 strokes from breaking into the Top 20. We enjoyed watching some bracket play GUTS at the Hippodrome equestrian facility and picked up our extra player's pack disc, NCDGC stamped G-Star Roc3's. Singles format will be played on Old Glory (Blue) and Hogback courses and you can expect there will be lots of moving on the leaderboard. Let's hope Kansas State will be moving up!

**UPDATE** NATIONAL COLLEGIATE DISC GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP - DAY 2
This was the day we had all been waiting for, the day we've worked so hard for all year. Today's first rounds of Doubles play would determine whether or not we would earn a spot in the Championship division. We rolled into the parking lot at the Hippodrome Complex around 9:40am to loosen up and get some warm-up putts in.
Opening ceremonies took place at 11:15 and first round tee assignments were announced. Sticking with tradition, the NCDGC pairs teams with their "rival school" so we teed off on the Hogback course with KU. Teammates playing Hogback were Jacob and Travis (Odds) and AJ and David (Evens). Superb putting kept us confident as we made many of our birdies from outside 30 feet. We completed Hogback (Par 60) in 52 strokes which put us 8-under! KU shot 3-under par :P
However, our 8-under par placed us tied with several teams for 11th of the 1st Round teams with many teams within a stroke. For the second round, teammates playing Old Glory Blue were Jacob and Travis (Odds) and AJ and Josh (Evens). This course required a bit more shot-shaping ability in open air while avoiding lined OB territory. Once again our putting play was our savior and we completed the Old Glory (Par 61) in 55 strokes which is 6-under par and -14 total.
The anxiety set in as we waited to hear an update regarding the 1st Round cut. We all breathed a collective sigh of relief when we heard that -13 was the cut to get in to the Championship division. We stuck around the Hippodrome Complex to catch some distance throws by Discmania team member Simon Lizotte. Avery Jenkins was also on site giving tips during a Q&A clinic. The evening concluded with dinner at T-Bonz Steakhouse in Augusta. Time to rest up for tomorrow's two rounds of Doubles on the Headrick Hills and Moody Woods courses.

**UPDATE** NATIONAL COLLEGIATE DISC GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS - DAY 1
After a long car ride through periodic rainstorms, the KSUDGC Nationals team arrived in North Augusta, SC shortly after 2:00pm. Players were greeted at the Hippodrome Disc Golf Complex by staff members where we picked up our excellent player's packs. These included a dry-fit NCDGC jersey, a prototype Innova G-Star Daedalus, a DGA Torrent, as well as vouchers for a commemorative NCDGC Pro Roc and lunch.
A Hott Shots putting competition was also held immediately after checking in. This putting game featured light-weight Innova Sonics and the Innova DISCatcher Traveler basket. Stacks of five putters were laid out at five increments with different point values assigned. Travis Bailey was the K-State team high scorer.
After a quick drive back to the hotel to get checked in and unload personal luggage, we returned to the Hippodrome complex to walk through the opening course for tomorrow's team doubles rounds, Hogback Pine Valley. We will be playing a 4-person team format tomorrow on the Hogback and Old Glory courses amongst 39 other 1st Round teams to earn a berth in the Championship division. 1st Round teams finishing 1-20 will join the 20 Bye Seed teams in the Championship division while 1st Round teams finishing 21-40 will join the First Flight division.
