Hey all:

I am looking for information on how I would go about starting a fundraising tournament. I work at an treatment center for individuals struggling with addiction and co-occurring mental health issues and we are starting a non-profit foundation to help individuals that are seeking treatment.

We wanted to try something different since it seems like every non-profit foundation like this always hosts a regular golf tournament, and we wanted to stand out. I also use disc golf as an intervention for treatment and love the sport in general.

Any information would be great since I don't have any idea where to even start.

2017 Highland Fling Disc Golf Trilogy Challenge Tournament
Monday, July 31
Flex start from 4-6pm
Beacon Hill Park Disc Golf Course (5959 West Beacon Hill Blvd., Highland, UT)
Register online at www.highlandcityfling.com (30 spots still available out of 100)

The Trilogy Challenge is your chance to prove your skill with a level playing field in regards to discs. Players are only allowed to play in the tournament with the three 2017 discs they receive in their player pack; if a disc is lost during the round, they must finish the round without it.

Monday, July 31st – Tournament Day
Time: Flex start from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., awards at 8:45 p.m. (if you tee off before 4:30 p.m., and play fast, try and play both Red & Blue courses; no extra fee)
Place: Beacon Hill Park Disc Golf Course (5959 West Beacon Hill Blvd., Highland, UT, 84003)
Registration: Registration $35, based on availability, at www.highlandcityfling.com

Ring of Fire game following awards to claim left over prizes; all participants and bystanders invited to participate at no cost.

I just had a request to re-open the registration for RPO X - Pro Weekend. So I did. Only the players pre-registered before today are guaranteed a player's pack. We are playing three rounds of 18. All divisions will play Red/Yellow/Red. Day 1 baskets are in alternate locations. The baskets are in those locations right now. This is mostly long, with a few exceptions (3, 5, 8, & 17). Day 2 we will switch all baskets to the original locations, except 11 & 16 which will go to XL. I do need volunteers to help with basket changes after round 2. Custom Vapor Blends will be doing a raffle for collectible discs and merchandise. They also want to do more for the caddies. All caddies will be entered into a special drawing for some cool prizes. Custom Vapor Blends will also give a prize to the best AM player finish in the Open weekend.

I was just informed that some people are under the misconception that the Charity Bowl is pre-register only. We have plenty of discs to accommodate anyone that wishes to participate. We will also have a raffle with a portable basket and many discs and prizes. Registration starts at 8:00 am. Player's meeting at 9. Dress warm. Please come show your support for the community. It is events like this that make Disc Golf an important aspect of our society. When the community sees the importance of Disc Golf they will be more willing to support our quest for more courses and community involvement.

Beacon Hills Park Disc Golf Course (5959 W. Beacon Hill Blvd., Highland, UT): Revised hole layout as a result of comments from numerous players and city easing up on use of grass area. Only has four baskets, the rest are pole targets (city won't pay for anything, so everything is donated). Has some very challenging holes with a long and short option at each hole (Blue-long or Red-short tees), wide open areas, beautiful scenery. Still need to measure holes and assign pars. Hey everybody I have a kinda desperate plea to make. I have 8 days left before I move to Guam and I still can't find anyone to take my cat. There is a 6 month quarantine period for any animal entering the island and I can't afford to pay the kennel costs, plus I really don't want her locked up in a cage for that long. All the options I had for her have fallen through and I'm now at the point where the only thing I can do is give her to a shelter and hope someone adopts her.
Does anybody want a cat?! She is about 4 years old, spayed, has her shots and still has her claws. She really only knows me so I'm not sure how she'll do around other people but I'm sure she'll be fine. The only real worry I have is how she would do around other animals because she hasn't lived with one for about 3 years.
Can anyone help?
