Monday morning (June 20) we will be pouring three new teepads at Hickory Hills. We need approximately 3-5 volunteers to help us get these done. Experience with concrete is helpful, but not required. We are meeting at Hickory at 8:00, and the concrete truck will be showing up at 9:00. It should only take us a few hours.

Myles Kimmerly disc golf course suffered a lot of damage from the huge storm the rolled through Northern Michigan last night. The course is CLOSED until further notice. Leelanau County officials need to assess the damage and make sure the park is safe to use. There are obviously more pressing needs going on out here at the moment, so it may take a while before the course reopens.

Log Lake Open (8/16) will be your final chance to qualify for our end-of-year skins. To qualify, players must play three singles events in the same division. So if you haven't already played two events by now, you cannot qualify for the skins match at Northern Michigan Championship. Better luck next year.

To those playing the State Doubles Championship, please read!

Due to the MI State Doubles Championship waitlist and the need to stick to our tournament schedule, all teams must be present and checked-in at Flip City's tournament central by 9:15am. If you have not checked-in by this time, your spot will be given to the next person on the waitlist regardless of cashless preregistration or paid registration. Again, you must be present...a phone call or a friend vouching for you will not save your spot...you must be present - No Excuses and No Exceptions. If you show up after 9:15am and your spot has been forfeited, a refund will be issued if you have already paid.

Do you have ice running through your veins to drain a 25 foot uphill pressure putt or the mental fortitude to overcome distractions? What about weaseling your disc through a 10 inch gap or a low ceiling knee shot...will your disc find the chains?

You will be challenged with 18 putts across 6 different baskets. Each putt has a point value between 1 and 5 with more points awarded for more difficult putts. The challenge awaits you.

3 divisions will be offered with the recommended placement shown below:
$5 - Open - (All Open divisions, Am1, Advanced Masters)
$5 - Intermediate - (Am 2, Am3)
Free Entry - Novice - (All non-tournament players)

Open and Intermediate payouts will be in cash to the top 30% best scores. Novice payouts will consist of prizes.

Hit an ace at Hickory Hills Open, and you could win a Car, or a Chainstar basket!

Cost = $5.00

50% of the money goes into the ace pool payout, 50% of the money goes into the skins fund for the end of the year winners. The value of the car is estimated at $1,500 (THANK YOU Traverse Motors!). The value of the Chainstar is estimated at $400 (THANK YOU Tom Dillon).

If nobody hits an ace at HHO, the car will then go to our next event “Sleeping Bear Summit” in Maple City on July 24th.

If we have more than 1 ace, we will have a throw-off on Sunday to determine the winner of the car. You must be present on Sunday to have a shot at winning the car. If you can’t attend the throw-off, you will still get your share of the cash, but will lose out on the chance at a car. No “substitute shooters” allowed in the throw-off. Throw-off will occur from the top of the hill near 7's tee pad to 8's basket. We will have a shorter tee for women & juniors to shoot from at the throw-off. The ace pool payout will be as follows:


For easy explanation purposes, let’s say 80 players enter, for a total of $400. NWS automatically sets aside $200 towards the end-of-year skins match, leaving $200 left in the ace pool.

1 Ace: Winner gets car & $200
2 Aces: Winner gets car & $100, Runner-up gets Chainstar & $100
3 Aces: Winner gets car & $66.66, Runner-up gets Chainstar & $66.66, 3rd place gets $66.66
4 Aces: Winner gets car & $50, Runner-up gets Chainstar & $50, 3rd-4th places get $50 each
5 Aces: Winner gets car & $40, Runner-up gets Chainstar & $40, 3rd-5th places get $40 each
100 Aces: Winner gets car & $2, Runner-up gets Chainstar & $2, 3rd-100th places get $2 each
