My 2 sons and I drove from Mississippi and stayed with my dad who lives in the area and planned to play in this tournament last weekend. However; when we got to Pleasant View the baskets had been moved to much longer positions than when I played there a few years ago. The new basket locations were ridiculously hard (very long and near the water) and I wondered if they had been set up by someone that sells discs to boost their sales! After playing and only losing 2 discs we then played Old Post which was not laid out a lot more sensibly. As we played Old Post we were discussing about whether to play of not the next day, just being amateurs and not pros, when we ran into a guy putting up sponsor signs on the baskets. He told us registration was closed as the 3 man scramble was full. However, I looked at the website and it still said you could register from 8-9 am the morning of the event. The man we ran into at Old Post said the changes to the Pleasant View course was to encourage pros to play there. I understand the concept but how many pros were actually going to play in the 3 man scramble? Since we didn't play I can't say but I suspect the majority of the players on Saturday March 23 were just average guys out to play a fun round and help raise funds for the event. I suggest that whoever put this tournament on please advertise that it is for pros for future events if the baskets are going to be in the same location as they were last Friday. And please remove the text from the website that says you can register the day of the tournament if it is full!
