Hello players!
We are so excited to welcome you to our fundraising event: Spin it Back at Mac Supported by BigFoot Trading and Innova Canada. We are fundraising for our BC Women's Event at McArthur in August and want to extend our gratitude for your support.
On Friday, June 20th, we will be setting up the course at 3:30pm and the park will be posted as closed to public at that time. If you are free to help with setup please let us know as we can have use of a few volunteers.
Player check in to receive your map, scorecard and player's pack will begin at 5:30pm at the practice baskets at McArthur. We will have a player meeting at 6pm and tee-off will be at 6:15pm. This event is family-friendly, and in a city park. Please be sure to abide by all city bylaws when playing; no smoking, vaping, alcohol or dogs in the park.
We are playing the current layout of Mac (with the exception of some holes we will be playing an alternate pin placement in order to help teeing safety). You will see on your map (attached and will be printed for you) that all holes are numbered the same but you will be throwing from the basket to the portable basket on the tee pad and then following the course layout in reverse (see also your attached scorecard for reference). A HUGE thank you to BigFoot Trading Co and Innova Canada for the great baskets! All Mandos and OBs are still in play. Also be aware that the water is up and the mosquitos are out! This will make some of the holes more exciting where water might not normally be an issue for your throw.
We have four divisions: Professional, Amateur, Women's and Juniors. There will be trophies awarded for our top three finishes in each division. We will be using paper score cards to help you score on this unusual layout, and all players must score for themselves.
EVERY HOLE will have a men's and women's/juniors CTP. Those will be irrigation pins so please pack a sharpie or a pen in your bag to write your name when you move the flag closer! We will also have some at check in if you need one. Prepare yourself for some delicious CTP prizes.
This event is about fun and fundraising. With your registration you will be given one mulligan ticket. Choose to use it if you will, extra mulligan tickets will be available at $2 each so bring some cash to get your extra "player B opportunities". There is no limit but there is also no refund. We will also have a trophy for the lowest scoring player with no mulligans used! When you use a mulligan you will have to present it to your card and check it off on your scorecard, indicating you used one.
Because we are putting out portable baskets, security is something that we have in mind. In order to keep the most secluded (and close to the river) baskets safe, we will be playing our cards on holes closer together and starting closer to holes 10/11. This might result in a little bit of congestion so we ask for your patience and also respect for pace of play.
When registration is closed we will determine our starting holes and players will form their own cards. We are planning to have the last card through holes 10 and 11 pull the baskets out in a wagon (that will be me, but just so you know that is the plan). We will be looking for cards of no more than 4 players.
If anything else comes up we will be sure to let you know before our round starts. Feel free to reach out if needed and spread the word as we still have more room for players!
With deepest gratitude,
Carrie and Elizabeth
