Introduction
A. Welcome to the player meeting for the 2020 Willy Pop Up #2. Most know me by now, I am Robert Voss, the Willamette Disc Golf Club (WDGC) president and your tournament director.
B. Also, thank you to the City of Corvallis for allowing us to use the facility, Willamette Disc Golf Club for hosting and running the event, and our sanctioning body, PDGA.
C. Consider joining the club. We’ve been on an upward trajectory for 2 years and only plan to continue growing the club and the sport and contributing to the maintenance of disc golf in the local area.
D. Also consider joining PDGA if you have not. PDGA is doing great things for the sport with helping there to be standards and to grow the sport worldwide. Besides keeping lifetime stats for all PDGA tournaments played, PDGA membership comes with the benefit of a Udisc Pro license. Udisc is the best course finder and score keeping app out there, and also has the PDGA rulebook built-in and text searchable!



General Notes
A. This is the second installment of the cheap and quick C-tier that is all payout, mainly intended to give folks a chance to log PDGA rated rounds on the cheap.
B. This is a 2-round event with a single tee time selection. Round 2 will begin 2 1/2 hours after round 1 started. For example, if you would tee off at 9 AM for round 1, then your round 2 tee time would be 11:30.
a. When it is your tee time, simply show up hole 1, where tournament central and myself will be located.
i. I will check in the card a couple minutes early, make sure someone is logged into the scoring and the card is correct, give a briefing, and then get the card started when it is time.



Live Scoring Info
A. Only one person on the card can be logged in and keep score
a) Go to www.pdga.com/score for entering scores
i. www.pdga.com/live for checking/watching scores
b) Login code is WPU220
c) Use Udisc for backup card and/or I will also have paper scorecards and pencils available.
d) After the round, make sure everyone checks their scores and “signs the card” through live scoring
e) Please stop tournament central to let me check and make sure the scores show up online.



Course Notes
A. There is no specific layout. We’ll play the baskets where they are.
B. I will set up CTP holes and have a list of those at the tournament.
a. CTPs will only be for round 1 so I can get them handed out.
C. No 2-meter rule.
D. Willamette out of bounds rule simply put, "the entire disc fully past the outside edge of the pylons – We don’t have pylons anymore! So fully past the string line, or fully on or over any pavement, is OB."
a. Use the tee signs! Any OB is marked on all the signs!
i. Long on 1 and 17 is still OB.
E. No mandos. Please do not throw towards other people.
F. We will throw hole #2 from the short tee pad both rounds.
a. If there are still any circles, they are not to be used. Walk off 10-meter putting and it is card call.
G. Card makes all calls, and as usual, any benefit of doubt goes to the player.




Tournament Notes
A. Speed of play. Remember the time to look for lost discs is 3 minutes "after the whole card starts helping." Let's get everyone looking right away, for 3 minutes, and then it is a rethrow with 1 stroke penalty if not found.
a. Take a provisional throw if there is any doubt you can find your disc before you move your marker and walk off.
B. And please also remember that this is a sanctioned event, so no kids under 13 (with exception for a well-behaved caddie per PDGA rules), no pets, and no drug or alcohol use during the rounds.
a. “During the round” is defined as, “from the 2-minute warning until the time the scorecards are turned in.”
b. Please don't put me in a position to have to kick someone out of the tournament. I don't want to deal with that.
C. If you must smoke a cigarette, then try to be courteous of people around you and downwind. Per section 812A, players may not allow their smoke to disturb other players. Just use some common sense and courtesy.
a. It is a warning the first time, and then a courtesy violation with a stroke penalty subsequent times secondhand smoke somehow disturbs another player.
D. I will have a water jug at tournament central to refill water bottles. Please bring your own reusable bottle.



COVID-19 Notes
A. If you have symptoms of COVID-19, then please do not come to the tournament.
a. Go to https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html for more information.
B. Please do not congregate in groups of more than 10, including in the parking lot, by request of the City of Corvallis.
a. Please help us “make it look good” so we can continue to have events.
C. Wearing a mask is encouraged but not required.
D. Please maintain 6-foot physical distancing, or wear a mask if you cannot, per the state rules.
E. Please bring your own hand sanitizer. There will also be some hand sanitizer at tournament central, available upon request.

Let's respect park laws and the PDGA rules of play, and always remember the first rule of disc golf: HAVE FUN!
