A final, final reminder... this is a PDGA event (even though no ratings and no extra fees for non-active members).

So, that means no drinking alcohol during the round. Before, sure. After, sure. But not during.

So all the brewery management info at the bottom of the rules sheet still applies to before and after the official round. But during the round drinking is not allowed.

Please bring small items for the Father Dave CTP. It is a player-driven CTP prize. At the Players Meeting we will pass around a bag and we hope you’ll all bring something small to put in it. Could be a neat toy, something silly, something weird, a mini, some change from your pocket or a dollar bill, whatever; anything and everything . There will be a CTP on hole #14 for the prize pack that is created from these donations. Free to play and everyone is eligible.

The Ice Bowl Membership Drive will continue all day Saturday, both at the course and online. Renew your club membership. Join the club at discounted rates. Come be a part of the area’s biggest (and in our humble opinion, the best) disc golf club. Waterlooooooooooo

Finally, let us remember that this is a fundraiser for Central Texas Food Bank and this is always difficult time for the food bank because of needing to re-stock following the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

Please help us raise a lot of money and a lot of food for an organization that provides such an important service to our friends, neighbors, and community.

The food situation is a bit different this year. We will NOT have someone on the grill making food to sell all day.

However, we will have some food for the players AFTER THE ROUND. We are getting a bunch of those big sandwich platters from the one and only Thundercloud Subs, and we will bring some chips and cookies to go with them.

It won’t be an ‘all you can eat’ thing. We should have enough for each player and staff member to get TWO of the sandwich pieces (which I think is about the same as one of their small subs), plus some chips and cookies.
However, it will be FREE for all players and staff.

So be sure to bring snacks/food for the morning and during the round; and after the round if you need more food than we can provide.

Friends and family coming with you will need to provide their own food.

There is also the Black Forrest food trailer out there at Live Oak that should be open in the afternoon and has pretty good food. Not sure if they’ll be open in the morning, but it is a Saturday so maybe.

We will have all the club's merchandise and older prizes out at Live Oak Brewing Co. this Saturday between 10am-4:30pm, so if you are still owed merch or cash payout, trophy, or some kind of raffle, auction, or CTP prize from Waterloo Singles or Doubles or another club event during 2022 or 2023, come on out to collect.

And if you are already out there playing Ice Bowl, definitely come collect please! :)

We WILL be using the PDGA live/digital scoring system, so hopefully most of our players will use that makes the hole-by-hole reconciliation at the end so much easier. However, we will have paper scorecards available for everyone who wants to use that method.
Be sure to come to the event with your phone fully charged so you don't lose your live scoring ability during the round.

New for all PDGA tournaments in 2024 is that EVERYONE on a card must keep a scorecard of the group for the whole round. So with groups of 5 or 6 for Ice Bowl, each group will have all 5 or 6 people keeping a full scorecard. At the end you must reconcile them all hole-by-hole, AND the group must turn ALL of the scorecards in to HQ.

Please try to hit up the ATM this week and bring cash for raffle & mulligan tickets, sales, club membership, and “upgrade costs” for a better disc or a long-sleeve shirt (instead of the regular DX disc or short-sleeve shirt). We might also have food for sale but not sure right now… our grill person fell through at the last minute.

We do NOT have paypal/venmo/etc available. We DO have a Square reader so we can take credit cards, and that will be down in our sales area. But the check-in line can take a while and to keep things moving along as fast as possible having cash available to pay for the other stuff would be a HUGE help; that way you can get done with the line and out there warming up and having fun. We are continuing one of our old, very fun Ice Bowl traditions this year: the Father Dave CTP. But this requires your help as it is a player-driven CTP prized. At the Players Meeting we will pass around a bag and we hope you’ll all bring something small to put in it. Could be a neat toy, something silly, something weird, a mini, some change from your pocket or a dollar bill, whatever; anything and everything.

We will then have a CTP on the course during the round on a shorter, easier hole. The prize will be that big bag of stuff we collected. It is always fun watching the winner go through it, discovering all the different things inside. ????

This year’s Ice Bowl membership drive is going GREAT so far! Normally we have only done this only at the event but this year we are extending it to the whole sign-up period too.

Greatly reduced prices to join during the membership drive, just $25 to join as a Supporting Member (normally $40) and just $10 to join as a Player Member (normally $20).

Both membership levels get a disc with your member number on it PLUS a $10 gift certificate from Disc Nation; Supporting Members also get a blue club t-shirt that is not sold, it is only available to Supporting Members.

Already a member? Early in the year is a great time to renew your membership. Get a $10 Disc Nation gift certificate with your 2024 membership renewal – that means one year really only costs you $5 bucks! Renew for multiple years and save money plus get a “renewal goodie” like the gift certificate each of those years.

1 Year: $15
3 Years: $40 ($5 discount)
5 Years: $65 ($10 discount)

if you are already registered to play, you can either go to your Ice Bowl registration record and add on these items and pay; OR you can just go register separately under the MEMB “division”; either way works fine)

2) in person at the club’s Ice Bowl on Saturday, Feb. 10th at Live Oak Brewing Co.

3) mail in a check or money order (to Waterloo DGC, PO Box 33531, Austin, TX, 78764)

Ice Bowl registration is now open: women-only until 8pm on Wed. Jan. 17; available for everyone after 8pm.

When you are registering on DG Scene, you will have some options available after you put in your division to help with fun and fundraising:

1) Buy Mulligans (up to 5 mulligans, $2 each)

2) Make an extra donation to the food bank (amounts from $5 - $25)

3) Be a tournament sponsor (amounts from $25 - $150)

All are voluntary, but all help the event and the food bank; and we will appreciate each and every one :)


You will also have a couple of voluntary options regarding club membership:

4) Become a New Member of Waterloo Disc Golf Club at our greatly discounted Ice Bowl Membership Drive rates

5) Renew your existing Waterloo DGC membership for 2024 (and beyond – you can renew for multiple years, saving money and time)


If you don’t want to take the extra time during your registration to look at / accept these options, you can always go back to your record later and add them in.

You can also go back to the main DGS registration page later and “register” again, this time using the “non-participant” Division Codes: SPON for Sponsor, DNAT to make a donation, or MEMB to join the club or renew your existing membership.
