Hey everyone,
Thanks for signing up for the Van Buren Flex Start Sponsored by Rapid Rivers Disc Golf! Fittingly, we'll be wrapping up the Syracuse Open fundraiser series with more rain. At least it will be warm? In any case, prepare for a soggy day on an otherwise beautiful course.
On that note, a hearty thanks to the VB crew led by course steward Mike Timmons. The progress there this year has been nothing short of exceptional. If you've volunteered your time, it's greatly appreciated (and it shows in the amount of play VB continues to get).
Thanks also to RRDG for putting $100 toward pro payout and an MVP Black Hole up for the am side. I'll run a randomizer at tournament HQ tomorrow morning before the first card wraps up and whoever wins it will be able to take the basket home with them.
And don't forget about the $600+ ace pot that will either be hit or roll into a ~$1,000 ace pot for The Syracuse Open. Run those drives on 3, 11 and 12!
With all of that said, here's the plan for tomorrow:
I'll be set up at Pavillion G, which is off the park road by Hole 14 gold. For those unfamiliar, turn into the bottom entry on Conners Road (next to the basket at the bottom of the hill), proceed for about 1,000 feet and park by the pavilion on your left. You'll check in there and then, if your tee time is 4:30 p.m. or earlier, carpool up to the top lot where Hole 1 is. If your tee time is after that, please drive yourself up to the top lot as the bottom gates close at 8 p.m.
I'll have CNYDGA club packs for anyone pre-registered with me, as well as remaining trophies from the earlier flex starts.
Those who leave their car in the bottom lot will be able to access it after Holes 7 and 13. There's also a port-a-potty set up between 7 and 8, and the pool bathrooms on the far side of the park are open for anyone who would like to use them before or after their round.
Please try to keep up pace of play. Keep searches for lost discs to three minutes. And, in the case of severe weather, keep your ear out for an airhorn. I'll fire off three blasts if play must be paused. If that occurs, please mark your lie as best you can and take cover. Two long blasts will indicate play resuming.

Hole 7: Surrounded by water. Optional drop zone from the white tee (marked with red flag).

Hole 13: OB road left and across
Hole 14: OB pond (painted). OB drives have the option of using the white tee as a drop zone (likely the preferred option). However, standard OB rules can also be utilized. All subsequent OB shots play standard.

Hole 16: OB stakes left, stakes and flags long

I think that covers it. Any questions? Send them over to me.
