Good morning, all!
As we approach the event, I want to make a few announcements regarding some small housekeeping rules.
First, remember that all amateurs will receive a player's pack, however there will not be true payouts. This is being done to keep the tournament cost low while still covering the greens fees to utilize the vineyard as well as raise funds to meet added cash goals for the upcoming Mountain State Open.
Second, I want to make a statement regarding possible weather. While there looks to be just some rain in the forecast for the event, this is event is on a fully temporary layout, meaning that the majority of tees are grass/gravel. Because of this I will allow players to tee within two feet in either direction of the stakes marking each tee. As the day progresses, I expect the tee quality to worsen, so this will help in mitigating deterioration. Along the same lines, I am capping registration at 68 players, or cards of four on 17 of the holes. This is mostly being done for the risk of hole 2 becoming unplayable due to the weather. I will make that decision on tournament day, but the location of that tee promotes pooling water, and it could very easily become difficult to play safely.
The course is in great shape! I will be working on a small caddy guide with maps and OB rules which will be sent to all players upon registration close. Registration ends on Thursday at 8pm, so be aware of that. There will be no morning of registration.
