The Turkey Open Doubles is a 2-person team non-sanctioned event. Each team will be playing 2 rounds of 18 holes at River Bends Park Disc Golf Course in Shelby Township.
Check in at the Hickory Grove Shelter pavilion between 7:30 – 8:15 am on Sunday, November 6, 2022.
The 2 rounds at River Bends includes a temporary 9 holes around the Upper parking lot allowing us to play 2 unique courses on 36 different holes.
The two courses will be referred to as Course A and Course B.
We will be playing Course A the 1st round then Course B the 2nd round.
Course A will be holes 1 through 9 on the permanent course plus the nine temporary holes around the upper parking lot numbered T10 – T18.
Course B will be holes 10 through 27 on the permanent course.
Tee Assignments for both rounds:
• Open Arms, Big Arms, Old Arms will be playing from the Long Tees.
• The Small Arms and Mixed Arms will be playing from the Short Tees.
Here is a brief look at the temporary 9 holes:
• BONUS: There is a map of the temp holes on the Disc Golf Scene Turkey Open page, see the Flyer here:

• There will be flags for the tee pads on all holes and painted arrows near the baskets pointing you towards the next tee pads.
• Holes 12 and 18 on the temp holes have short tee pads.
• If you go long on the 1st temp hole T10, you may have wished you hadn’t! (Hint #1)
• Hole 11s basket is on the steps’ platform below the fairway grade just south of the North pavilion. If both of your teams’ throws sail over the railing, you are not O.B. If you land on or over the path on the right of fairway 11, you are not OB. The north Pavilion however is OB.
• The parking lot is OB on Hole 12. Long on basket 12 is no picnic either.
• If you go long on Hole 13, you could bring the path into play. If you go long and right on Hole 13, the sidewalk and cement in and around the pavilion as well as on the pavilion are all O.B. If you go left on Hole 13, you may have wished you didn’t. Keep a close eye on discs if they start to fade into the trees on the left. The leaves here are thick and brutal.
• Hole 14 is straight but right next to the parking lot. So be very careful!
• Holes 15 and 16 are short island holes. If neither drive is on the grass, you have the option of using your mulligan with no penalty or you have to re-tee with a penalty.
• Hole 17 is on a manhole cover but close to the walking path. Don’t go long. The volleyball courts are not O.B. but the playscape is O.B. Please be careful of children playing in the playscape.
• Both tee pads for Hole 18 have been relocated to the parking lot and have white paint defining them. Pay Attention. Hole 18 throws to the Practice Basket.
NOTE: If your 1st round finishes on a temporary hole, please grab the tee pad flags after you tee off and wheel the basket back to HQ.
THANK YOU!
