Hello all!
We are just a few weeks out from the Tristate Club Team Championship on August 27.
Please check the registered players to ensure that your information and your team roster are correct. Please reach out to Joe Johnson or Rich Longer if you have any questions or required changes. Each club team will pay the $70 entry fee the day of the tournament and bring one item for our raffle. There will be a food truck available for lunch at Road Apple Disc Golf Course between rounds. The winning team will take possession of the Championship Trophy for the year and earn the right to host next year’s event!
As a reminder, each club will field one singles player and three doubles teams that will play against the other clubs in a round robin style series of 6 hole match play matches. Substitutions can be made between rounds, but must be planned so as not to delay starting times. Winning a match (single or double) will earn your club 1 point. Ties result in 0.5 points for each team. Female players will receive a tee advantage, for example if men tee from the white (middle) tees, female players will tee from the red (short) tees. After 5 rounds, total team points will be calculated. The top 2 teams will play their final 6 holes, match play, winner takes all for 1st place. The 3rd and 4th ranked teams will play for 3rd, and the 5th and 6th ranked teams will play for 5th place. Ties are decided by the result of the singles match between those teams. If singles tied, it goes to the A Doubles team result, then B and then C. Following these final 6 holes, a tie for first place will only be decided by singles sudden death playoff between the players of choice by both tied teams, starting on Hole 1.
In the pictures for the tournament you will see a grid showing starting holes and matches for each 6 hole match. The six club teams will consist of a singles player (S) and three doubles pairs (A, B, and C). On the grid, you will see that for the first six hole match, club 1’s doubles team B will play against club 2 and will play holes 7-12.
We are looking forward to a fun and unique event! Please let us know if you have any questions.
