Good Afternoon!
Hope that you all are having a great Friday and that you are as excited about tomorrow as I am. I am truly looking forward to getting to meet you all and have a fun round of disc golf at Paschall whenever you choose to make it out. I just wanted to go over a couple of things in preparation for tomorrow.
1. Parking. Remember to please park at the Little League fields that are right behind the park. You will see the first entrance directly to the park, but go past that one and take the next driveway. There is a bridge that goes from that parking lot over to the park and we will be set up close to there under the tress. I have attached a map and it is labeled so you will know where to park and where to go afterwards. This is very important because there is another group that has reserved the pavilion and will be using the parking near there. I was only able to make this happen if I promised to net get in this groups way and not interrupt what they had going on. So please, please, please make sure you park where it says to in the picture and then come find us.
2. Packets and Guaranteed Shirt Size. For those that registered before my initial sign up deadline, your shirt size is guaranteed. To the rest that signed up after that, it will be a first come first serve as far as sizes go. In looking at things quickly, most should be covered, but I had very limited options with what sizes I could get with the last packs that I got. So keep this in mind.
3. Timing. As I posted on the Facebook page and the event page on the registration site, we are going to do everything we can to be setup early and have people be able to start at 8:30 am or possibly earlier. The absolute latest that a card will be allowed to start and go out will be 2 pm. We really want people to try and beat the heat and not be out there too long. That way hopefully we can have all cards in and figure winners out by about 4 pm at the latest, but if everyone gets done earlier we will figure out the winners earlier as well. So keep all of this in mind as you plan out when you want to come out and play.
4. Cards. For the event and being a flex start, you have got to have at least 3 people to a card and will probably max it at 5. Want to make sure that things are moving smoothly and that we do not slow down the pace of play for others. So try to plan ahead and make sure you have at least 3 so you can get out there and start playing as soon as possible. There will most likely be people looking to join cards and I will be there to help put those together so everyone can play.
5. 4 Divisions. Beginner- those fairly new to the sport or do not play very often. Experienced- those that have played for a while or regularly. Ladies- self explanatory. Juniors- Anyone under the age of 18.
6. Tees. We will be playing from the short tees for the event.
7. Hot! It is going to be very warm tomorrow all day. Even at 8:30 am we are looking at 80 degrees plus the humidity and it is only going to get warmer from there with the high looking to be close to 100 and the heat index making it feel well over 100. Plan accordingly. Make sure that you are hydrating well today and that you bring water, Gatorade, or whatever other beverage of choice and have it with you. We will have bottled water at tourney headquarters available as well.
8. Have Fun! The purpose of doing this event is to get to try 3 new unreleased discs and get to play a fun casual round of disc golf. I played a similar event down in Waco last weekend with these discs and had a blast! The discs are great! I am looking forward to you all getting to try them out, see what you think, and to make it as great an experience as I can.
I think this covers most of it at the moment. Again, I am excited and looking forward to getting to meet all of you in person and putting on a fun event. Hydrate and rest up well and I will see you in the morning!
God Bless,
Kennan Dealy
