Tinicum Open is a two round shotgun start event at Tinicum Park.
Sign in at the pavilion by hole 1. Sign in starts 7:30am.
There will be a short in person players meeting Saturday at 8:30am. If you are not signed in by 8:30am you may lose your spot.
For the unvaccinated; Masks that cover your mouth and nose are required when you sign in or any other time you are near the store, tournament central, and in your groups if you can’t socially distance.
Hand sanitizer is available for your use before you touch any merchandise in the store.
Amateur players pack any two Discmania discs of choice plus one small item (Sticker, Patch, Hot hands, Mini Marker). Get your players pack before round 1.
Your starting hole for round one is listed at
https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/54421 In the morning check again your starting hole to confirm nothing has changed. Changes should be very unlikely and only if absolutely needed. A few minutes after the last card for round 1 is finalized we will shuffle the cards and publish where you start for round 2. The last card will have at least 35 minutes. We will be shuffling cards between rounds for each division.
Some cards may have 3 people; if it is time to start and you only have 1 or 2 people you cannot start; wait where you are for the next group and play with them keeping scores separate.
Each card must have two people keeping score. Open person must keep score via the PDGA website and another person any other way you want. We will not have paper score cards. The PDGA site now has the ability for two people to both keep score on the same card at the same time; DO NOT DO THIS. Have the second person use Udisc.
We have set up layouts on the PDGA site. PDGA.comscores code Upshot
For OB rulings, group decision is needed. If you can’t decide, give the benefit to the player; when in doubt play a provisional. Player must declare loudly they are playing a provisional.
No two-meter rule; no special island rules. Everything is standard PDGA rules.
Bring plenty of water; and this may be a good time for this year to wear sunscreen & bug spray.
The B.S. Bochantin Upshot store will NOT be open during the entire event. Tinicum does not allow any monetary transaction to happen on site including electronic payments.
For those swapping their unwanted plastic, give us your discs before the first or second round. We will value them as you play, and you will receive a script card for the value to use at a later event. We are not accepting any swaps after you finish. DX are $1 value currently.
We will be paying out approximately the top 40% of the division. We are not handing out script cards for this event. We will have tables for each person to choose one item from for each place paid out. Please stay for your winnings.
For any first-place tie breaker playoffs, start hole 1 and continue till a winner is clear.
We have currently collected $240 for the ace pot. If you did not pay online, you can’t anymore as we can’t accept any money at the park. For the side game for 'Ace Pot/Side Games' we will be doing a CTP from a spot by the pavilion to the practice basket for any one item on display. We will have two pools for this. Pools 1 is MPO plus all 910 rated or higher, Pool 2 is under 910 rated. The Ace Pot gets you 3 throws. If someone hits an ace on the CTP then we will payouts more people.
The only changes we are making from the standard course is we have a Mando on Hole 11 that you must go left of and we have added the entire left side of hole 4 as OB.
Paved road and across is OB on all holes. Parking lots and pavilion is OB on all holes.
For the canal which is extremely low the water is OB and the area between the water and the canal path is casual relief. So, if you land in the water or the area between the water and the canal path either way mark you lie on the canal path. That mud is deep.
