BYO3 Challenge 2021, Presented by Sweet Spot Disc Golf!
First of all, I want to thank each and every one of you, players and staff, for coming! We recognize that you have plenty of events to choose from, so we appreciate you choosing ours!
We are going to do our best to hold this tournament during the tail end of a pandemic. We are going to take some precautions and ask that you cooperate with us and are patient as we do our best to limit contact between people during this event. We ask that you practice social distancing and try to maintain a 6’ distance from others. We also request that you respect others and their wishes regarding their comfort level of exposure. If someone asks you to move a little further away from them, just move a little further away.
There is no large-scale player’s meeting. This letter will work as your meeting and you are expected to know the information provided in it. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. We’ll also be posting Tournament info such as a CTP/LP list, and Payouts at Tournament Central, near hole 20 under the pavilion! Keep in mind that because this is a flex start, payouts will change as more people show up!
We are playing 1 round of 20 holes, singles format.
You must select three discs to use for the entire round and can only use those three discs. If at any point you lose a disc, you cannot replace it, you must continue with only two discs. If you lose them all you’ll have to drop out!
This event is a FLEX START, meaning you may sign-in anytime between 9am and 2pm. Show up, check in and pay if you haven’t pre-registered, and we’ll send you out with a group!
There will be no formal awards ceremony, so there will be no need to stick around until the end of the event, however you may stop back to see how things are shaking out, we will have a leaderboard going. Formal results, payouts and scores will be posted on discgolfscene. Sweet Spot will also have a list of payouts and Trophy&CTP winners.
COURSE RULES AND OB’S FOR THE BYO3 Challenge 2021:
First thing I need is for you all to pay attention to your surroundings. There are a few different fairways that run right alongside each other, and I promise you getting hit by a disc DOESN’T FEEL GOOD. Errant shots are going to happen, so keep your heads on a swivel and yell “FORE” if your shot is going off course. Paying attention to yours and your card mates’ shots will also help keep the flow moving between holes by avoiding backups while looking for discs.
Please use trash cans! We want to be able to host tournaments here again and want to keep the course nice!
This is a public multi-use park. Please allow park walkers to have the right of way!
There is a LOT of Out-of-Bounds (OB) in the last 11 holes. A disc is OB if it is COMPLETELY SURROUNDED by OB as determined by your cardmates. Your next shot will be 1 meter from the OB line, marked with a mini marker, closest to the last place your disc was in-bounds, and you add a penalty stroke.
Lastly, do not climb over fences to retrieve discs. The softball fields will have gates unlocked and entering the airport over the fence is against the law.
Each hole will have information on the tee sign-post. Please read these as you arrive at each hole. They will say the following-
Hole 1: Prize available for Closest drive to the basket for the day!
Hole 2: No special rules or prizes, be sure to yell “FORE” if your disc is heading towards 3’s fairway on the right!
Hole 3: No special rules or prizes. Pay attention to discs possibly coming over from hole 2.
Hole 4: Prize available for Longest Putt for the day!
Hole 5: Over the Airport Fence (yes, it’s possible) is OB. DO NOT CLIMB AIRPORT FENCE.

Hole 10: Prize available for Closest drive to the basket for the day! Please wait until teepad at hole 1 is clear before driving. Road and Parking lot are OB. Mando right of the tree that is painted with an arrow. If you don’t pass by the right side of the mando, your next shot will be from the drop zone next to the tree, adding a penalty stroke.
Hole 11: Tee off anywhere before the painted line. Road is OB, inside softball field is OB and re-tee adding a penalty stroke. Please don’t climb the softball field fence to retrieve discs.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CLIMB THE BUILDING TO RETRIEVE DISCS.
