Welcome Players to the 2023 West Guth Challenge!
A PDGA B-TIER presented by OneStar Disc Golf!
WHILE THIS IS LONG, IT WILL SERVE AS OFFICIAL PLAYER MEETING! IT’S YOUR RESPONSIBILITY AS A PLAYER TO REVIEW ALL THE PROVIDED INFORMATION PRIOR TO ATTENDING THIS EVENT!
This event will be played on the beautiful West Guth Course in Corpus Christi, TEXAS.
About the Course: Designed by John Houck in 1996, this course offers players longer open fairways with strategically placed guardian trees for added challenges. Gulf winds prevail throughout the course with sidewalks and roads played as out of bounds. We will play (20) holes including 10A & 10B.

CHECK IN: No need to Check in if you are pre-registered as you will already be assigned a card and hole prior to event on Saturday morning which will be posted on PDGA event page Link

Players should be at their starting holes at least 10 min BEFORE the 9am start time. In the case a player does not show to your card, make sure you have AT LEAST 3 PLAYERS on the card. In the event you do not, one player will go to a forward card, one player back. This can be adjusted using the PDGA Live Score (Contact TD if needed)(361-218-3384)
PLAYERS MEETING: Virtual Players meeting emailed on Friday prior to event. Player’s meeting will also be transcribed on Facebook, DG Scene and posted at HQ for the day of sign-up players.
FORMAT:

ROUND 1: 9am start
any player not at starting hole at start horn will receive Par +4 and proceed to next hole.

AWARDS: Trophies for Divisions with 3+; CTP (Closes To the PIN contest) We will have CTP's throughout the event for some great packages!
GENERAL RULES:
All PDGA Rules will be followed to promote fair play for all disc golfers. If any point in dispute is not covered by the rules, the decision is made in accordance with fairness.
The TWO-meter rule IS NOT IN EFFECT!
Use provisional throws when necessary to save time!
OUT of BOUNDS (806.02 Out-of-Bounds): Sidewalk & beyond, Fence & Beyond, Roads, Parking Lots, Creeks Surrounded by Water and beyond, Pylons and Beyond inside Edge of Pylon, Painted Lines.
(806.02 Out-of-Bounds) C: A disc that cannot be found is considered to be out-of-bounds if there is compelling evidence that the disc came to rest within an out-of-bounds area. In the absence of such evidence, the disc is considered lost and play proceeds according to 805.03.
805.03 Lost DISC: (3) minutes to locate (everyone must HELP! ), if determined lost proceed to previous lie w/ one stroke penalty.
804.01 Mandatory Routes: A mandatory route restricts the path the disc may take to the target.
The restricted space is a vertical plane marked by one or more objects or other markers which define the edges of the space. (Make sure your familiar with the updated rule 3/22/22)

PDGA.com/live for following or watching anywhere! Rule 808 Scoring must be followed without exception.
There will also be a paper card available at HQ for back up purposes.

1 - OB: Sidewalk & beyond, water in pond/ditch, inner face of pond wall. Concrete ditch leading to pond is in-bounds.
3 - OB: Sidewalk & beyond
7 - OB: Sidewalk & beyond on right. PYLONS & BEYOND behind basket.
8 - OB: PYLONS & BEYOND, FENCE & BEYOND, Water in Ditch Casual
10B - OB: PYLONS & BEYOND, sidewalk & beyond. Optional DZ on sidewalk near picnic table. Player can elect to take last in bounds or optional DZ
11 - OB: Street & beyond, surrounded by water in ditch. OB marked behind basket. PLAYER CAN TAKE UP TO 2 meters from Waters Edge.
13 - OB: Sidewalk/street & beyond, basketball court, outer edge of fence around court. (I.e. between fence & court is OB.).
15 - OB: Sidewalk/street & beyond, CREEK (Surrounded by Water)
16 - OB: Surrounded by water in ditch. OB Marked behind basket PLAYER CAN TAKE UP TO 2 meters from Waters Edge.
SOLAR ECLIPSE – If needed TD will sound a long horn to stop play (DELAY)! A short 2 horns will follow to resume play!
